I purchased this bike based on the reviews. It arrived quickly and it's great! It rides very nice. I'm a 38 with a back problem that keeps me from riding a regular bike. This was the PERFECT answer for me. I can ride with the kids and Hubby without any problems and without worrying about hurting my back while balancing a regular bike. The basket is great! You can fit a lot of stuff in it for a long bike ride (water,blanks, food, kites! A small sized dog could easily ride in the basket too!). Best part about the basket is that it collapses and folds onto its self so that it can be a flat "bed".
There was just a few items to assemble. Most of the bike was pre-assembled, which surprised me. You do have to put on the, steering wheel, front tire and fender, the rear tires and fenders, the foot pedals, and connect the rear frame with the front frame (two bolts) and a small drive chain--which was easy. The basket has four bolts to attach it to the frame and that's basically it!
One other point: It looks COOL! It has that beach cruiser look with a new twist.
Stop the research! Treat yourself, get healthier, get the bike, and cruise in Style! :) A++++

I baught my Schwinn Meridian in August 07, and I am very happy with how sturdy it is and how easy it is to ride. I have two young healthy dogs who need a lot more exercise then I could give them. So I baught the bike to exercise them with and it is working out better then I could have ever hoped. The bike is very sturdy so if the dogs pull hard to one side it doesnt budge. The brakes are wonderful- stop on a dime. I had it assembled at Sports Authority for $25 and I couldnt be happier with is quality and function. It is surprisingly peppy.

I got one of these very recently, because I cannot ride a 2-wheeled bike due to balance issues from a brain injury. It was relatively easy to assemble, 'though I did require help. I am very happy with it so far! It is able to get me around my small town without any problems! I highly recommend this product for those who cannot ride a regular 2-wheeler! The basket is VERY nice and large and also easily collapsible.

this trike is made of aluminium so it wont rust, great for where I live,
I added a front wheel Electric hub motor so when I get tired of pedalling I click it in, also I fitted a canopy, to keep off the sun and rain,{made by miami sun}.there is no licence, tag, tax, or insurance worries ride it right up to the store front door and lock it and I can legally ride it on the sidewalk in either direction, what a concept, smell the roses.

I bought this Schwinn Meridian Adult Bike because a year and half ago I fell while riding a two wheel bike when I turned to go up on a driveway. I suffered a serious injury to my left thigh and swore off biking. Then I saw this on Amazon. I feel safe on it and I love it. It is great exercise for me to work my upper leg muscles in conjunction with the exercise I do on the Tread Mill. This is a really good buy.

I bought this bike for my 78 year old grandmother, who wanted a bike to ride but has balance problems. Since getting this bike, she has become a neighborhood institution!

Grandma rides the bike nightly around the neighborhood, and loves to race the kids (though she always lets them win) down her street. She jokes she's going to start a delivery service to use the basket in the back!

The good: Everyone can ride this. My 90 yr old grandma has never rode a bike before and she had a blast. Anyone that doesnt know how to ride a buy can ride this. Its sturdy/stable/safe and a has great basket to put all your stuff in. Its a good simple/stable bike for flat roads, easy riding, and great for those that dont know how to ride a bike. Great price. I don't regret my purchase.

The bad: Building the bike was confusing, instructions... what instructions? There was a one page instruction with 3 diagrams for the whole bike. If you know where everything should be the, next thing that will hold you back from building the bike is adjusting the brakes. If you don't really like building things, find some one that likes it. Those that know how to ride a bike will find it harder to turn as it is a 3 wheeler. You'll have to do Wider/slower turns. This is a simple bike for slow cruising. There are no speed changes. Front brakes are pads / back brakes are rotator brakes. (which only slows you down). It also takes up FLOOR space in the garage.

I am disappointed with this product. I first purchased mine July 5 and had to return it because it broke within a week of riding it. I purchased a replacement 3 days later. When I received this new one, the box was in perfect condition every part was wrapped nicely, but to my surprise a fender (even though it was wrapped perfectly in foam strips and cardboard surrounding them) had a large dent and paint had been scrapped off. How did that happen? Well, after finding this I contacted Pacific Cycles and requested a replacement fender. I am still waiting... it has been almost 2 months. I called them again and I was told there were 21 on back order and 100 of them coming in, the funny thing about that is, I was told that they wouldn't receive the fenders for another month or two or maybe longer. So, to make a long story short, I will NEVER again purchase a bicycle or tricycle from Pacific Cycles (Schwinn).

There are many positive reviews about this tricycle, but I personally believe that the quality of this trike doesn't justify the price. This trike should be sold for as little as $99.99.

P.s. If you experience a noise near the rear of the trike, it is due to poor design and craftsman ship. as there are two very large spacers between the bearings (that the drive shaft passes through) that are detached and move about while you ride. Pacific Cycles recommend that you oil and tighten the outer bolts of the drive shaft a few time and that will fix the noise. Wrong! to fix this have someone weld some inserts in the hubs of the rear end so that the bearings don't push through (yes it is too much work).

(update) Well, this one just like my first one, broke and the funny thing is, that it broke in the same place which was the chain for the driving shaft.

This Bike is very nice and big. Standard shipping to me was by Fed-ex 3day, and received the bike in 3 days after ordering. Was quite surprised since it is such a big box. But since it was shipped so fast not much detail was paid to the handling of the item. Box came pretty torn up,1 bent fender and 1 nut missing, but was able to find quickly at the Ace hardware. Did not come with instructions on how to put it together, so everything was done twice. Instructions were for a 2 wheeled bike, which is substantially different. Once it was put together, it rides great.

I'm 76 years old and I love my trike!!!!
