I ordered this because I'd seen another Amazon review saying the assembly was easy, and I was happy to find this is true for me too. Since there are no directions, I thought I'd do my part by giving other buyers a couple of tips. You will need a couple of hex wrenches -- I already owned one of those little Craftsman sets with all the sizes attached to the plastic grip handle. You will need the inch measurement ones, which is the set with the orange handle. This is the only tool required. You will need a pair of household scissors, too, and an air pump for the tires.

The bike will arrive with the handlebars detached and folded over by the cables and strapped to the bike frame with a plastic fastener strip. The front wheel and the seat post (with the seat already on) are also on the side of the frame. Cut the fastener strips off. To put the front wheel on, find the axle in the little cardboard box, put it through the wheel after uncrewing the axle cap so you can put it through the wheel. Now just put the axle through the front fork and flip the end lever on the axle to hold the front wheel on.

Put the seat post in, and then turn the lever on the band which adjusts the seat until you have the height and direction of the seat where you want it, and lock down the lever.

To put the handlebars on, first take the protective black cap off the end of the handlebar post. You do need to hold the handlebars just the right way because the cables are already attached, which is good in the long term. It took me about three minutes of trying several positions until I figured out how to slip the handlebar post in, but eventually the light bulb came on over my head and it was simple. Once they were in, it was a snap to put the handlebars where I wanted them.

This bike is beautiful. It is made of great quality components. It rides easily and smooth. Front shocks and seat spring allow rider to take it off road with ease. Shifts easily. VERY comfortable for larger rider. I am extrememly pleased with this bike. Great for street riding, dirt roads and trails with rocks and roots. Comparable to higher priced bike store models.

Bike was easy to set up and is a pleasure to ride.

Everything is high quality, steel and even the stock seat is pretty comfy.

Great bike for a big and tall rider and a beginner.

I acquired this Schwinn bicycle a little over a month ago and am, quite honestly, blown away at the quality of its construction. I think the part that impressed me most on this particular bike, was the accuracy of its shifting mechanisms, I spend a great deal less time fighting with my gears than the person I ride with. Just a few years ago I spent a considerably larger amount of money on a similar styled Trek bike, that quite frankly disappointed. When comparing the two and taking into consideration the price differences, I am much happier with the bang for the buck provided by this Schwinn.

This is a great bike, I bought this one for myself (I am 71" tall) and the womens version for my wife (she is 64" tall).
Then after getting them assembled descovered the little tag that says this (these) bike(s) are for a person 74" or taller.

Quasi weekend bike warrior and wanted a decent confort bike to ride with children. Reviews drove me to settle on the 26' men's Mira Mar. I assembled and spent an additional $60 for a professional tuneup. I highly recommend getting the bike serviced immediately upon assembly as my tires were out of 'true' (common for this type of packaging) and derailer adjustment plus gives 'peace of mind'. I definately can't complain about the bike, especially paying only $210. There's quality here and rides confortably. Very good looking bike as well with looks that go far beyond a $210 price tag. I would definately recommend for the 'casual rider'. Perhaps I'll graduate to a more sophisticated product in the future if I decide to stay with biking. A note of praise for the independent distributer 'OJ Commerce' as they were very professional in their followup as well as product packaging and conditional. No defect issues. I consider myself a very 'informed' consumer as most, ie Consumer Reports, review web inquires and definately recommend this product.

Bought this as an inexpensive "exercise" bike for riding around the neighborhood. It has exceeded my expectations in all respects. Great design and excellent quality. Shifter is smooth and suspension makes for a comfortable ride. Highly recommended!

The package arrived in good condition, and I had it unpacked and assembled in about 40 minutes. All parts were nicely protected, and easy to assemble. I just had to do a couple of tweaks, sprayed the chain and gears with dry teflon/moly lubricant, installed my Catseye odo, and rear splash fender, and shortly afterward I took my Doberman for a run. I used my jawhorse to hold the bike upside down while I mounted the front tire, lube the chain and make the tweaks...I especially like Schwinn's derailer system that allows tweaking the front to back angle on the fly. I'm very happy with the product.
