Unsafe product,
This review is from: Schwinn Alloy Bicycle Pedals (Sports)
Item shipped was machined badly. Right side wasnt threaded fully, and the metal around the pedles had excess sharp metal sticking out which can tear up shoes or if foot slipped would easly slice someone up. Without these defects they would have been pretty good and safe.

OK Cheap pedal,

If you need a cheap flat pedal these will do the trick. Decent alloy cage but the center appears to be plastic. Just to clarify from the earlier post, the axle on these is 9/16" (standard on most road and mountain cranksets).

These pedals worked fine enough but they didn't last. The alloy is cheap and will bend to all different kinds of shapes while you're riding--not such a good thing. The plastic center is cheap and broke after a few rides and I never felt safe riding with these.

From the pictures I though they will will be sharp. But no my shoes kept slipping from the dullness of it. And it is not black and chrome. It is all chrome and has a shiny plastic feel to it.

The pedal malfunctioned shortly after I bought it. While using it, I felt the pedals tighter and tighter. Don't buy this item any more!

I had purchased a schwinn mountain bike, which looked good and road good. but the plastic pedal had broken and needed to be replaced.Found these Schwinn alloy pedals on line at a good price.I ordered them right away, they came timely, and I immediately installed them on my Schwinn bike.Must say they are a improvement in looks and durability.

I read a lot of reviews on these and purchased them despite what I had found. For the price they are definitely an upgrade over stock all plastic pedals. The ones I received are a little different than the picture, they are all silver metal construction with no brand labeling. I did notice some better grip while pedaling from slow to fast with the larger teeth on the edges. The downsides I found were they weren't as smooth as I thought they should be to rotate, but with some oil it seemed to help a lot. Also, the reflectors are cheaply made and can be removed with minimal force. Overall I would recommend these if you want a cheap upgrade from stock plastic pedals.

Remember, you get what you pay for. These pedals look flimsily built, but has held up to a few curb scrapes so far. Although, one reflector on each pedal has come off, they do provide a good grip on your shoe. I may be replacing these pedals with ones made from thicker aluminum.

This pair seems to be a decent set of metal pedals for the bicycle, especially if you, like me, do not care for the plastic pedals being installed on the cheaper bikes out there. But Amazon's description of this set is really sparse. I bought this for a Schwinn beach cruiser, and the beach cruiser has 1/2" pedals but this pair is 3/4". So now I'm looking at a return and I still need to order new pedals.
