I was in need of new bike grips as my old ones were sticky, torn and used daily.

Purchase:
It was quick and easy as expected from amazon.

Shipping:
I have amazon prime so it came in on the 3rd day of purchase. 1 day for processing, and 2 days for shipping. I must note that during the arrival of the package, no one was at my apartment. I live in a row of townhouses one next to another. Everyone in this complex leaving the house will walk through the same path. Ontrac, the carrier delivering this package decided to just leave the box in front of my door. Anyone could have easily taken the package and left without a trace. Luckily one of my housemates came home early to prevent that from happening.

Installation:
I knew what was supposed to be done to install these grips but for some reason I decided to do it the hard way. First, to remove my old grips, I literally just slit it with a blade and removed it from my handles. Installing the first side of the new grip, I just shoved it dry in the handle with a lot of force. It worked for about 1/4 of the way into the handle. From there, I had to slowly push and rotate the grip millimeter by millimeter because there was so much friction. I regret not wetting the inside with soapy water first. After 15 minutes of struggling, I finally managed to put in the first grip. For the second side, I decided to be smart and put soapy water into the grip. Sliding it in only took 2 minutes. So moral of the story... USE SOAPY WATER.

How does it feel?:
VERY COMFORTABLE. I've had these for 2 months now, and I use them everyday. They feel great. Firm but soft. Has a very nice grippy feeling to it. I highly recommend these if you are looking for new grips.

With the increased surface area of these grips vs standard round mountain bike grips, it makes the grip much more comfortable. I still use gloves with these grips, but they feel better either way, with or without gloves. If your grips are hard, worn, or need replacing, these are a good way to go.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Grips for a Good Price, July 12, 2011

Our 24" mountain bike received a new handlebar to provide more comfort than the original straight bar. {See Picture} The original grips were old and were torn so I purchased these and I am very happy with the result. A bit of hairspray was applied to the handlebar and inside the grips. The new grips slid right on the bar. When the hairspray dried, the grips were snugly held in place. The ergonmics of the grip is very comfortable. I am happy with the my purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars nice hand grips, February 22, 2011

these grips are much more comfortable than the original equipment grips and are reasonably priced... made it so that my hands and wrists no longer hurt or go numb on my 10+ mile rides. I dipped them in warm soapy water before installing them and they went on without any trouble. My son had quit riding his bike due to his hands going numb, I put these grips on his bike and he states no more numb hands and he is back riding his bike. they appear to be tough enough to last for some time, like the grippy feel they give also.

I replaced my stock grips on my Specialized Rockhopper with these and am really happy with the results. A word of advice, take a few trips with the grips in different positions relative to your hand to find a good zone of comfort. I run mine a little higher, so my palms don't rest square on the pad, but more on the upper side.

really easy on hands and seem well made.
Used glass cleaner to install. Also cut ends off as they were too long.

There are more pricy grips out there but I didn't want to pay a fortune for a set of grips. I ride mostly in the city where I need a fast response. My old grips were getting pretty sticky. So, after seeing a set similar (but more expensive) I decided to try these. I am very satisfied. They are comfortable to coast with, easy to get to the breaks and help in making those quick turns. The only mistake was I forgot to put them in hot water to warm them and make them easier to put on.

Definitely a good buy for the money.

Got these for my son's bike. Amazon delivered quickly and the product is excellent! It gives his bike a whole new feel!

A tip that has worked for me: after removing the old grips apply a coat of hair spray to the handlebars before installing the new grips. It helps them slide on and has enough stickiocity (not a real word) to keep them in place. Ultra Clutch is good but any brand will do...

I've tried many styles of these comfort grips on bikes in the bike shops, but these were the most comfortable. They were easy to install by using soapy water on the handlebar. The only negative is that they don't have an end plug, so if you use a bar end mirror or bell, you'll need to cut a hole in them.
