5.0 out of 5 stars Bicycle Fun!
We've had our Schwinn Trailer for one year. My daughter enjoys riding in it very much. There is a place for her drink, and the seat is comfortable enough that on longer rides she falls asleep.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fits to Bikes with Rear Disc Brakes - Not for Small Children
My initial rating of three stars remains. Actually, I have sold this one because our son kept sliding forward in it and ended up almost parallel to the ground with his neck bent up at an uncomfortable angle because of limited adjustability of the belts. Even if you get the seat bottom as tight as you can (the only seat height adjustment by raising the front edge of the...

We've had our Schwinn Trailer for one year. My daughter enjoys riding in it very much. There is a place for her drink, and the seat is comfortable enough that on longer rides she falls asleep.
I bought one of those seats that fits on the back of a bicycle, but it wouldn't fit. The back fender of my bicycle was too wide for the seat, and we didn't want to force it. I'm glad it didn't fit. The trailer is just great. It rolls smoothly on inflated rubber tires. I'm careful when turning that I don't hit curbs, the trailer turns very well. My daughter has room to wiggle her feet, without kicking me, she is protected from the sun, and mosquitoes with the cover and the bug/debris net. The side windows are easy to see out of. She enjoys riding in the trailer, and sometimes we even take the neighbor's granddaughter with us. They both fit comfortably (remember less than 100 lbs) It's a great purchase.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE IT!, March 17, 2005
This review is from: Schwinn Turbo Trailer Aluminum Bicycle Trailer (Misc.)
I love this bike trailer!!! My kids love going for rides in it, and my 3 and 5 year old both fit in comfortably. It has sling seats And they look comfortable in it.

It converts to a stroller very quick and easy. The front wheel just flips up when used as a trailer and then with a twist of the knob the wheel comes down and is easily tightend for use as a stroller and the handlebar is attached very easily.

Also the material on this one seems more durable than the cheaper models I looked at and it is more roomy than the other models that I looked at, I need more room for my 5 year old.

I especially love how easy it attaches to the bike, very simple and you can get additional couplers to put on additional bikes so it can be used with additional bikes without any hassel. (6.99)

It wasn't hard to assemble.

It has the universal hitch so if you fall the trailer won't.

Also it has a bar across the front of the wheel to keep from hitting the wheel on things.

It has a cup holder for each kid and also another pouch for each child to put a toy or a snack. My 5 year old likes to put curios george in the cup holder, it looks like he has a harness on. It also has room in the back for a couple of bags of groceries or helmets ect.

It dose have helmet pockets so the helmets won't make the childs head tip forward but my three year old is too short to benefit from this so that is something to keep in mind.

I haven't had any problem with wear but have only had it 2 weeks. My only complaint is those hills. We live on a hill and it is quite a workout to pull 65-70 lbs up but my legs are getting stronger. :) Going down hill is no problem, I was worried about the trailer pushing the bike but it doesn't, and it is very easy to pull on flat ground, it just takes a little getting used to having a trailer on the back.

I would highly recomend this trailer. And so would my children.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great value!, July 7, 2008
This review is from: Schwinn Turbo Trailer Aluminum Bicycle Trailer (Misc.)
This is our first bike trailer. Deciding between the InStep Quick n'EZ and the Schwinn Turbo was the only hurdle--both are made by InStep, so I wasn't sure if buying the Schwinn model would be just paying for a name. After scrutinizing, my husband and I noticed the main difference between the two was the tires--the Schwinn tires were nicer by far, and larger, 20" instead of 16". We felt that would make the trailer easier to pull. It IS easy to pull. I really don't feel it with our 2 1/2 year old in it, at all, on flat roads. As others have said, hills may be a little tougher, but they're still doable. And I am not the strongest person, either, I've always been on the petite side and not muscular. My daughter loves it and seems comfortable in it, she even fell asleep on a ride. It is very easy to attach to my bike, even for a mechanically challenged person such as myself. It also pushes very nicely when it's in stroller mode. If I had to complain about something, it would be that I don't love the colors of it, but that's okay--at least it's brightly colored and very visible. Recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good value for money, June 2, 2008
This review is from: Schwinn Turbo Trailer Aluminum Bicycle Trailer (Misc.)
I haven't had this long, but it seems like a great value for the money. The trailer was very easy to assemble and to attach to my bike, which has a quick-release rear wheel. I hardly had to look at the directions. It is very light, yet seems sturdy with heavy fabric. My two sons fit well in the trailer and seem to enjoy the ride. I don't plan to use it as a stroller. Unless you were to plan on using the trailer in very rugged terrain or abusing it, I can't see paying $300-$400 more for another brand.

My initial rating of three stars remains. Actually, I have sold this one because our son kept sliding forward in it and ended up almost parallel to the ground with his neck bent up at an uncomfortable angle because of limited adjustability of the belts. Even if you get the seat bottom as tight as you can (the only seat height adjustment by raising the front edge of the seat), it develops a slack after a couple of rides.

I don't recommend it if you have a kid that's younger than two years for this limited range of adjustability. All in all, it is a decent product with a decent price. I recommend keeping the tire pressures around 30-35 psi so that it doesn't wobble a lot if the trails you're riding are less than perfect in terms of bumps and cracks.

_____________Initial Review after First Use__________________
I'm giving this three stars as I've only used it once and can't evaluate with nothing more than first impressions.

My main issue before buying was "Will it fit my bike with rear disc brake?". It does. For the purposes of comfortable riding, it does not rub on the disc while turning either.

Even though the model name is same, the one we have is SC-765. I think the seat might have been a bit better (no padding in ours but the seat bottom looks like there's room for the parent to add a foam cushion under there), and I would have liked the straps to be attached to some hard points (they are sewn on the seat corduroy), but our 13 month old did not look uncomfortable and was in his seat. The lap belt though, I wish they had slits sewn in the seat corduroy (and included two belts) so that you can have it configured whether you have one kid or two. Right now, the lap belt spans the whole width of the seat no matter you're carrying one or two kids. So, if you have two kids in the trailer, they are sharing the lap belt, if you have one kid sitting in the center, the lap belt spans the whole thing.

4.0 out of 5 stars Simple trailer, great value., May 20, 2009
This review is from: Schwinn Turbo Trailer Aluminum Bicycle Trailer (Misc.)
I bought this on sale at target and I have to say all in all my son (35lbs at 21 mo) love it. It has been a great trainer for me and a nice break from running with him. He loves all the storage pockets in the childs compartment and is able to keep juice, snacks, toys, coloring pads and all of his toys easily within reach without losing them and me having to stop to fish them out for him. It is very lightweight and has plenty of storage room in the back which is crucial. Things I would improve: 1)A helmet pocket like some of the higher end strollers have in the seats, he doesn't seem to complain about it but I think it looks a bit uncomfortable for him sometimes. 2) The seat could be a bit supportive, again no complaints from my little one as of yet. If you are just starting out biking with your little person, this is a great affordable jumping off point. If you are a more experienced biker and want to put in more that 4-6 miles at a time, get something with a better seat and helmet pockets for the kids comfort. This is not meant for kids younger than about 18 months. If you are thinking about biking with kids younger than that some of the higher end models have seat adapters that you can by to make the seats infant/baby friendly.

1.0 out of 5 stars I do not like this trailer., September 30, 2009
This review is from: Schwinn Turbo Trailer Aluminum Bicycle Trailer (Misc.)
I bought this trailer from Target in March 2007, and the harness on the inside started to deteriorate about a month after I bought it. I called Target and they told me to bring it back with the receipt, but did not replace it. I called Schwinn and they did nothing about it either and every time I called I got the run around. The material in the bottom of the trailer also started to rip and I know my son was not heavy enough to rip it since he was 20 lbs. when we got it.
The only good things about it are the big wheels and it was very roomy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Investment! Gets Years of Use!, September 29, 2011
This review is from: Schwinn Turbo Trailer Aluminum Bicycle Trailer (Misc.)
I bought this trailer when my son was almost 1 year old (note: he was too young to ride in it then, and I wouldn't recommend putting a 1-year old in it). I got on sale at the end of the season knowing I would use it the next year. I have used it for two summers now and feel it is a great thing to have.
I haven't used it as a stroller, so I cannot make any comments about that function, but using it as a bike trailer is wonderful.
First of all, it is very easy to setup and attach to and detach from the bike.
There is some storage in the back, as well as cupholders and pouches in the passenger area. There is a screen-like window-style cover, and a plastic cover that can come down also for the front "window".
It is pretty easy to get my son into and out of the trailer. Sometimes the bucklingunbuckling can be a bit hard (it is the clasp/clip style), but I also like that, because there is no way my son will be able to unbuckle that! He hasn't tried to sneak his arms through the straps yet. It also has a lap strap.
I frequently take my son for rides in this trailer. It is very nice and seems to be a pretty smooth ride (my son would complain otherwise). The only thing he doesn't like about it is when I'm riding up hills and have to stand to pedal, the way the rear tire goes side to side makes the trailer go side to side too (it doesn't tip or anything but swerves, and he doesn't like that).
It is very easy for me to pull behind my bike, and I can easily go on long rides with this trailer (my definition of long is a few miles each way). Going up hills is not very difficult at all, but I do stand to pedal when going up hills (which as I stated before bothers my son). I stand to pedal going up hills when I don't have the trailer, too. I don't have any trouble slowing down, stopping, or turning, either.
I have taken my son and a 5 year old together on this trailer and there were no problems then, either.
Overall, I love this bike trailer and would recommend it to anyone who has children and likes to ride bicycle.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't be happier!, June 15, 2011
This review is from: Schwinn Turbo Trailer Aluminum Bicycle Trailer (Misc.)
I found this one used for $100. I couldn't be more happy with it. My Son loves it, has plenty of room. I take him to school in it so I get some exercise and he gets a ride. We also go to swimming lessons in it. I've learned where all the grades and hills are in our area. My Son is comfortable in the sling style seat, so much so he has fallen asleep in it on the way home from swimming. It rolls better than I expected to. Very easy to attach and maneuver. Even with my Son strapped in it with snack, drink, toy and towel there is a lot of space (it's built for 2) and there is even more space for stuff in the back behind the seat. The sling style seats I think are great and minimize the bumps of the road, feeling more like a bouncing hammock with a 5 point safety harness. It is lightweight, converts easily to a stroller and is a breeze to put together as well as quick release tires and folds flat for those times when you want to take it along on a trip. We plan to take it to the Grand Canyon this Summer. We even use it to pick up groceries. My Son loves it and we have even taken his friends in it for a ride around the park. I found the straps easy to adjust. The only thing that we had to change was my Husband had to get a longer pin to put thought the rear wheel hub so he could attach the coupler, as well as add a kick stand. But we've been loving it as soon as we got it. Not to mention saved a whole tank of gas this week ($56)!
