Economical and Safe Double Jogger,
This review is from: Schwinn Free Wheeler 2 Double Swivel Wheel Jogging Stroller (Sports)
We were looking for a double stroller that was 1) under $300, 2) was side-by-side, 3) had individual, adjustable seats, 4) a swivel front wheel 5) good shock system, 6) a sun canopy, 7) a storage area under the stroller, 8) easy fold-up ability, 9) durable material (in decent colors) and easy one-handed maneuverability (jogging with dog and children in tow).
We got everything we asked for with the Schwinn Free Wheeler 2 Double Jogger. Some added bonuses include 1) side-by-side double joggers are bulky and usually very heavy for one person to collapse and throw in a car, or store in the garage, but this one is a one handed collapse and collapses to about a one foot width. It is light and easy to pick-up (even for a 140 lb pregnant woman) 2) there is a small storage sack and wrist band that comes with the stroller. The storage sack goes in the handle bar area and the wristband is included as a safety precaution if the stroller gets away from you, it is still attached to your wrist. 3) the brake is fantastic! We have a very steep driveway and locking it to close the garage is of no concern. It has a sturdier locking mechanism than our Maclaren single stroller. I am not an easily persuaded buyer and if you check my history, I don't take the time to review often. This stroller deserved the time and energy to tell others about it's A+ness! Added side note: Please always have your children wear helmets while you jog! If they don't make a helmet small enough for your child, they are too small for a jogger.

I researched this stroller choice so thoroughly! As all moms know, a stroller can make or break an outing!!! I actually got up the guts to ask people at Disneyland how they liked their strollers and after much research chose this one.
It is a beauty! It didn't disappoint when it arrived!!! Stroller Size: My 2yo dd is 38" and 37lbs my 4yo ds is 40" and 38lbs. They fit very comfortably. My daughter actually cries when we take her out. They perfer sitting in it to watch TV! They have room to grow wider and taller without any troubles. Others mentioned the bar and the tilt of the seats being a problem for their children, my had no trouble at all! ***IT FITS THROUGH A REGULAR DOOR WITH NO PROBLEM AT ALL!*** It is larger when folded, but that is typical. Stroller Performance: It steers like a dream, much easier than my front and back stroller and much easier than my side by side umbrella stroller. I cannot feel the children's weight at all and jogging behind it was not difficult. Pockets: All of the pockets are a little on the small side, but suitable for daily use. Each of the children's seats have a small drink holder on one side and a very small snack pocket on other. The soft parent console is suitable for keys, a phone and a water bottle. It may be dangerous to use with a hot drink though. Each seat has a small pocket on the back and the under the seat pocket is suitable size. I am very happy with my choice of stroller. I hope this review helps your decision making.

We have 4 boys and with a 2.5 year old and a 3 month old, Mom wanted out of the house for walks during the day while I'm at work. Well, this fits the bill. Excellent, well designed, comfortable and light weight. One reviewer mentioned it doesn't lock. Either something is wrong with her particular unit or she doesn't have the locks all the way down. When ours is locked, it's not coming undone. And it has a one hand, slide and squeeze for easy folding. fits through 36 inch doors and you can free wheel or the locking pin in the front is great to hold the wheel straight and use as a jogger. I would HIGHLY recommend this to anyone looking for a double. Oh, we always have problems with the sun, this one comes far enough out to keep the sun out of their eyes, even when they are laying down. Large bike type air wheels make bumps smoother, even on gravel. And the removable seats are cusioned and easy to throw in the washer. Easy removal. GREAT GREAT Product! And we have lots of experience, this being our 4th stroller.

7 month old preemie and big 4 year old,

I needed a stroller for exercising (walking, not much running) that would fit my 12 lb preemie 7 month old and my 49 lb 43" tall 4 year old. I love this stroller. We have had it for a month and it drives the best of any of my strollers even with a 40 lb difference between the seats. My daughter is tall, but a small pillow tucked under her head makes her comfortable where the seat doesn't quite come up high enough. Her legs fit just fine and it is comfortably wide for her. The seat when completely upright still reclines enough for her to sit unrestrained without me worrying she will fall out, yet is upright enough for her to enjoy the ride and view. The curved sunshade allows clearance for my daughter's head, it could be deeper, but a small recieving blanket helps create enough shade at certain angles of the sun. I was very concerned over paying for a stroller when we were so close to weight restrictions, but it was so worth it. My kids are comfortable and I am able to get out and walk off those extra baby pounds!

Pretty unhappy with it,

OK, so after researching double stroller, I decided on this one. The only thing I kept on running into was the issue regarding the angle of the seat.
Got the stroller and although I must say it is very light and handles wonderfully, I HATE the seats. I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 9 month old. The 9 month old is just at that age when she wants to see everything around her and the angle of these seats prevent her from doing that. Now, my hubby LOVES the darned thing as he sees it as more comfortable. Yes, I agree, but only if your goal is for the kiddos to take a nap. Before you buy one, go look at it somewhere (store, friend, etc). If I had to do it all over again, I would go with another brand. What I like: - The stroller basket is bigger than most double joggers, but pretty flimsy. It does fit my diaper bag, which is not a small one, but after that there is no room for anything else. - The canopy is nice. It covers them from the sun very well and if needed you can tilt it to cover them from the front (if you are walking against the sun). So this I like about the stroller. - It does come with a little parent tray, which is just the right size for us. Fits a water bottle (or 2) and a small wallet. - The handle is adjustable. - It handles very well and very smooth. What I don't like: - The angle of the seats - The break bar will NOT stay up. You can catch it going down and bring it back up, but not what I want to worry about while out on a stroll. Good luck!

This is a great stroller. I get LOTS of inquiries about this when I am out and about. It's VERY easy to push and maneuver. I love the swivel front wheel, and I use the lock mechanism for walks/jogs. I would really like to see a hand brake, but the wrist strap on this model is definitely helpful for hills and rollerblading. The seats are easy to adjust, great pockets and cup holder. The sun shade is upgraded to a curve, which is really great. It's a little bit tough to collapse, but not too bad. It fits into the back of my minivan fairly well. GREAT value for the price, and it's definitely a step up from the regular model.

BAD Experience- Not Very Practical- Design Change,

My husband and I couldn't wait to receive and start using this stroller. We currently own the Free Wheeler single version, so we felt confident ordering the Free Wheeler Double. The product specifications states that the stroller supports 50 pounds per child.
When the stroller arrived, we quickly started putting it together. Our two year old immediately jumped in and wanted to go for a ride. My husband started pushing our two year old and four month old around the kitchen. I couldn't help but notice a HUGE problem right away. Our two year old's head was well over the steel frame of the seat back. It was resting, quite uncomfortably, at the base of his skull. Our son's height is very average, not tall for his age at all, so this left us scratching our heads. Could the seat backs be raised? Nope. We turned and looked at our four month old. His head already reaches the very top of the seat back. If this stroller is designed for up to two 50 pound children, they must be very short and quite pudgy. There was one other problem as well. Notice the really nice shoulder support pads sewn into the harness system? They are no longer a feature. This feature was important to us since our baby would need the extra support and padding. The packaging still displays this as an option as well. I called the manufacturer of this stroller, Pacific Cycle, and spoke with Brenda regarding our findings. She was very unhelpful, rude, and pretty condescending. She stated that there had been a design change, and that we were out of luck with the shoulder harness. She also stated that all of their strollers, Schwinn, InStep...etc. have a standard 17.5 inch seat back. 17.5 inches? Is that a joke? They don't offer a stroller that has higher seats. I measured the seat back on our year 2007 single model, and it measures a good 20 inches. A pretty significant difference. So, design changes have been made, but for the worse. The company is charging more, while saving money by cheapening their strollers. Bad move. So now we are stuck trying to return the stroller, but nobody wants to claim responsibility for the problem. So, we are filing a report with American Express. The good news? Yes, there is some. We found and purchased a GREAT stroller from REI. The staff at REI were all extremely helpful. We purchased a BOB Revolution Duallie Double Jogging stroller and we couldn't be happier. It is considerably more expensive but worth every penny. Our sons can actually use it for years to come. If you want a stroller for a child older than 6 months old, you will need to buy a BOB. Good Luck!!!

I've been using this stroller almost daily for one month and absolutely love it! I have a 2yr old and a 2mo old who are both comfortable in it. I know it's not marketed for infants this young but because the sits are so reclined, he rests perfectly comfortable and seems safe. The adjustable sun shade is very handy and to prevent the "flopping" one other reviewer mentioned, just tighten the screws where the shade attaches. I use this stroller primarily for one hour daily walks on a rural road that's too bumpy for a "city stroller". We did however take it with us on a trip recently and couldn't believe how EASILY it FIT in the trunk of our 2001 Honda Accord ALONG WITH 3 large bags! While my husband was in meetings, I took the boys shopping and was amazed to find it FIT in all the stores, a DRESSING ROOM, AND A VERY SMALL COFFEE SHOP! It ended up raining too and the shade was generous enough to keep the boys mostly dry. The only minor complaint I have is that even with the shade all the way back, there is still a couple inch gap where, if the sun is behind us, can shine in on the baby's head. Overall, very nice stroller for moderate price!

Great stroller--reasonable price!,

This stroller is great!!! I researched double joggers for quite some time and did not have a big budget for some of the higher-priced ones, but did find that this one got great reviews. I just received it in the mail a few days ago and let me tell you--I love to go walking now! I can put both my kids in it (ages 2 1/2 years and 5 months) and no longer have to put my 5-month-old in the Snugli carrier. Also, it makes walking my dog easier, he just walks right next to it. It has a nice, smooth ride, and barely feels like I am pushing any weight. It folds up nicely and fits into my SUV perfectly (a Honda Pilot). It also has a little soft console for water bottles, keys, etc. The canopy is nice and large and covers them from the sun. My kids really enjoy riding in it, it is roomy and has great 5-point harness restraints. The ONLY drawback I can see is the angle of the seats...I have them reclined forward as far as they will go and they are still at an angle where my kids seem to be lounging back. My 5-month old does not mind; however, my toddler gets antsy sometimes and wants to sit up. For the most part, though, they are content for the entire ride and don't try to sit up. This stroller is perfect for fast-paced walking or strolling around. It is probably also good at the mall or other places, but I know after about 45-60 minutes of sitting back my toddler will reach her limit and want to get out! Luckily, I have a different stroller for those occasions!!! I highly recommend this stroller--you don't have a spend a fortune to get a great stroller!

We love it. It is easy to push around. The kids seem to be comfortable (I did put a small towel under the seats so the kids can sit at a more upright position.) Easy to close and open. It takes up a lot of space in the van but it is expected. We have enjoy it very much. For the price we paid for, it is a great stroller.
