Reading other reviews I made sure to "prime" the chalk board (twice) by taking a piece of chalk and rubbing it sideways over the entire chalkboard. Works great! Katie (3 yrs.) loves to use the eraser & hides away her chalk in the sliding section. I did not show her how to use the white board, due to the smart advise of another review about accidently getting marker on the carpet by turning it over to use the other side without completely cleaning the white board. Loving the portability of it!!! Ever child loves to mess with chalk, & I like practicing the alphabet.

A true piece of entertainment in more ways than one! Pen, various pieces of colored Chalk, and an eraser all together in a nice tidy carrying case.

Hours of entertainment, play-time, and even learning can all be achieved with this set. A wonderful gift for any child, and even useful for parent teaching as well.

I bought this chalkboard for my 21 month old son as an alternative to markers and crayons (easier to clean up). He loves his chalkboard and the chalk that comes with it. The eraser is pretty cool too. I love that everything can be stored so easily-- the chalkboard slides open to reveal a handy storage container. He hasn't played with the reverse side yet, I'm too worried about the white board marker finding its way on to my walls. I also gave this toy as a gift to my nephews. Love it and a great value!

This is a nice, compact, portable form of entertainment. I agree with other reviewers who say to prime the chalkboard with included chalk before using. It really makes a difference. Price is good and it appears to be durable enough to last for a few years with intermittent use.

This was a Christmas gift for my friends little girl who is 3. She loved it. She especially liked filling the storage compartment. It was the perfect size for her. I was planning on purchasing a second one for her other child. I would recommend this toy to others.

This is great!!! The price and everything is phenomenal. I looked for the Fisher Price carry along chalkboard (not to tell my age) but had no luck. I think this is even better than the Fisher Price one.

We bought this for my son for Christmas and what a hit. The case easily slides open and has room for chalk, eraser, pens, paper and other treasures. He can take it from room to room with the fabulous little handle. Is great for home and would be perfect for travel. Sturdy too!

It's cheap intertainment for my 2 year old. And came in very handy for practicing spelling words for my 7 year old. It appears a little flimsy, but I've had it for almost a year now and it's still holding up just like the day I bought it. I do recomend this item.

For the price this is an okay toy. It has a chalkboard on one side and also includes a dry erase section, but I found both a little tricky to erase fully. I was hoping to use it for travel and keep my son's crayons, drawing items etc. but the most excitement he had was opening and closing it. I wish I would saved the money to our of the other more elaborate doodle type travel pads, more suited to a car seat. Our friends purchased another brand with more options and they rave about it. I can see why.

We gave this to our daughter about 4 years ago when she was in preschool. She is STILL using it, takes it on car trips, especially, or plays hangman with her older siblings while waiting. We are about to order a replacement because it has been that useful and wonderful. Cannot recommend it highly enough!
