4.0 out of 5 stars Cute and durable
After the horrible "Porcelain Tea Pot Incident" that left my 5 year old heartbroken and her tea set in pieces, I went with this tin version. Why didn't I do this in the first place? Really adorable, great for the 5 and under set. Drops on tile floors with a clang, not a crash. Other than the tray becoming a weapon and getting dented, a very durable set. Also, the compact...

3.0 out of 5 stars Very cute, but rather flimsy
This tea set comes nicely packaged and is so cute with different pictures on each plate, cup and saucer. However the tin is very thin and is very easily bent. Within a few day the tray and plates had been bent, and soon after the tea cups were crushed by the weight of a child. These are not much more durable than a soda can. I would expect more at this price.

I had a hard time finding a tea set that wasn't saturated in flowers, pink and purple. Little guys like to "play tea" too, but don't always want the frilly stuff. Would be nice to find a set w/o characters, I think plain mellow colors would be great in a tin set. We tried the ceramics but needed something that wouldn't break so easily. This "Curious George" set is just right for my boys. Thank you.

I bought this for my nephew who loves to pour and "make coffee" for his mom but most tea sets are all pink and flowery. I bought a ceramic set at a toy store and several pieces were broken when they opened it. This set is rugged and gender neutral. His little sister plays with it just as much as he does. The price was great, too.

YES!!! I am so happy I found this tea set. My five year loves to drink tea with his mommy. I had a super hard time finding a tea set for my son. Every tea set I found before this one was decorated with flowers, butterflies and feminine colors. My son also happens to love curios george. What I love about the tea set is that it looks vintage. Who said boys don't like to have tea parties!! =)

This is the only set I could find that was not "girly" for my son. He loves it and we have tea daily. It has held up for a year despite heavy use.

I got this for my daughter for Christmas who was a little over 2 at the time. She loved that it had George on it! She loved it right away. She's 3 now and still loves it. She has tea parties all the time, birthday parties, she uses the teapot not only to pretend pour, but also to put small things in and carry around like a purse. We have all sorts of "picnics" and she puts the fake food on the plates, etc. This is endless entertainment and one of the few things we bought for her that she hasn't lost interest in after 6 months. I think it definitely works on fine motor skills and imagination. Also, very durable. She hasn't bent or broken one piece! My mother tried giving her a ceramic set, and needless to say the teapot and one of the cups were broken in a few days. I would heartily recommend to anyone.

I purchased this particular set since Curious George appeals to both sexes. We have four toddler grand-kids who enjoy playing tea-party when they come over. The tin dishes are fairly durable and can be easily washed. We put small treats on the plates, pour "tea", learn manners and how to interact, and play pretend, all at the same time. The kids all seem to want to use this set at some stage of development. The price is reasonable, and adults can have fun with the little ones.

My Littlest enjoys working in the kitchen along with me, and enjoys his own cuppa tea as well... but it is incredibly difficult to find tea sets that are not PINK or some other very "Girly" combination. We also like the "tin" of it, rather than the typical plastic. It's just plain fun. Really like the SHAPE of the teapot and the cups as well.

The Curious George Tea Set arrived very quickly from the provider. The tea set looks very durable for my 2 yr old grandson. Even young men need to learn the art of drinking tea. My 2 yr old grandson will be very happy to have something that is durable and Curious George, his favorite book on monkies and their antics. There will be many good afternoon teas with his new sister in the future.
