Although it is not as well built as the one I grew up with it is still a classic. My nephew loves it and he learned a little about magnets and physics, even if he doesn't know he learned something.

Everyone who comes into my house picks it up and starts playing with it. Not quite as sturdy as the original from the fifties but close enough.

I had one of these toys as a child and I remember it being made a lot better than this one. This one works, but is flimsy. The plastic that keeps the bars spaced apart slides up and down, allowing the tip to widen too much to hold the gyro. If the plastic is slid too far toward the opening angles, the gyro can't pass through the angles. It works for adults and older kids, but will fall apart with younger children.

I had one of these when I was a child 30 years ago and loved it. The toy I had was virtually indestructible and worked flawlessly for as long as I cared to play with it. This is not that toy.

I bought this for my son because I liked mine so much. This just does not measure up to the one I had oh so long ago. It is flimsy and barely works. They just don't make toys like they used to :-(

I was so excited to order a gyro wheel for my kids, since I loved playing with this as a kid. It came today and it is so poorly made that it doesn't even work. It is flimsy, the metal bars are unevenly spaced so the wheel can't even stay on to move to the other side. A very fun toy if you can find a company that makes a quality one.

This toy is addicting for all ages - one cannot sit down and watch tv and play with this and put it down. We even added colors to this and it has become even more addicting to watch.

The Wheel in the middle keeps falling off. POS. If the spacer is moved to the front, the wheel touches it and slows down immediately. what a fail.

Great toy. My 8 year old spends hours having the gyro wheel go, trying to have it go faster & trying tricks. Great educational opportunity to teach about magnetism, gravity, gyroscopic properties and other scientific topics. And there are no batteries to charge, can be used anywhere, day or night. So good to have a simple toy that allows so many fundamental lessons. I will certainly be back for more of these types of items.

Got exactly what I expected. It's a fun little toy that all ages (even adults) can't help to play. My girls love it!

The product seems and feels sturdy at first glance and feel. Something one would not expect for the price. The wheel itself does not have a stable look to it. It will probably break after beeing thrown to the ground 5 or 6 times. It is great to give to people to get their minds of things. I personally like it and pick it up from the "office toy box" to play with it from time to time. It is also nice for explaining friction and magnetic forces to the little ones. As it stops from tilting at a certain speed, one could also explain the principle of the gyroscope and thus the rotational energy. I would say the longelivity of the thing greatly increases with children over 9. Bottom line is that its very good value for the price and fun to play around with(but probably not more than 5 minutes a week).
