I bought these bells for my 7-year-old nephew. There are stickers naming the note on the handle of each bell. One of the stickers had already fallen off when I examined the bells upon receipt. Eventually my brother will probably have to write the notes on each bell with a permanent marker.

This set is great for my use as a special education teacher (elementary) and Sunday school. My students like the color coding with the lettering on top as well as the sounds. It is an inexpensive but an effective alternative to teach and expose my students to the joy of music.

Good product except the kids have ended up causing some of the letters to come off the handles. It would have been better if the letters were stamped on the handles instead of placing stickers with the letters on it.

I bought these bells for my 7-year-old nephew. There are stickers naming the note on the handle of each bell. One of the stickers had already fallen off when I examined the bells upon receipt. Eventually my brother will probably have to write the notes on each bell with a permanent marker.

These bells do not come with a songbook. Included is a folded piece of paper with 2 or 3 songs on it. I could not find any color-coded handbell music online. I purchased the songbook that Amazon advertises along with the bells, but I had to color-code the notes myself with colored pencils. Do not buy the cards that are advertised with the bells. They are for learning chords.

The bells' packaging is not suitable for long-term storage. I ended up decorating a shoebox with stickers. Amazon does sell a case for around $12.

In spite of everything, I am happy with the bells. My nephew started playing songs immediately after he opened them and I could see his intuitive musical skills breaking through!

We have a friend who had these & every time we saw them my girls & I just drowled we wanted them so bad. They are fabulous for learning beginning musical skills & coordination. I wish they came with a bigger music book & a case. The kids have to be watched when using them because they can chip easily & ding if they get thrown around. My girls are 4 & 7 and they can follow the music especially if I help. I think the sound is beautiful. We did them for Christmas with our cousins & even the adults loved to play them.

But would it be so hard to make the handles out of real wood? Looking at the wood-colored plastic handles (and feeling them) makes the bells appear unnecessarily cheap.

I still love them and my kids do too.

This is a good inexpensive handbell set for children to learn the basics of ringing; it's makes a good musical toy for youngsters. Unfortunately, the tuning, especially of the middle C, is not good. It is not noticeable, certainly not by untrained ears, until you play the middle C and high C together - a cringe-producing sound. Good fun but not much of a musical learning tool.

We bought these bells for our son who was having difficulties learning his colors (or refuse to learn, we're not sure which!). We thought these bells would be a fun way to help him learn his colors while also bringing a little music into the house. The bells have been WONDERFUL...the sound and quality of the bells are fantastic, and as hoped, our son, who is now 3 knows all of the colors. He doesn't currently play any of the songs provided in the songbook, but he likes to play "where's the...(color, or letter)" and he'll find it and ring it. This is an activity that he asks to do regularly.

These bells are 5-star for sure on educational value and fun...durability is tricky. They are durable, but not necessarily for a 3 year old. We have to be very careful and we work very hard on showing him how to properly handle the bell (not throwing them or grabbing the clapper inside the bell). And, although we still store them in the original box it came in, we will soon need to invest in a different box.

These are definitely on our list of favorite purchases.

We just got these for my daycare. The kids love them, but with my age set (mostly 2-4 and 5 years old), it's been hard to do anything more than just let them ring them all at the same time. I think these would probably be perfect for 5 and older where they could work together to play a song. We'll keep trying to do more with them and see what happens. Currently they get a little annoying for the adults and don't keep the kids attention as long as they probably could.

[...]These bells have been such a big hit in my own home, with teenagers, as well as their intended purpose. I teach music to children in Sunday School and the children loved them and the teachers couldn't wait for their turn. Lots of fun!
