This metal loom is far better than the plastic one I have. My nephew is making these for Christmas presents. One done so far and he is thrilled! At age 5 it's too slow and frustrating to sit long enough to do the 'weaving' part and finishing-off, but he loves to do the beginning of the project with the cross pieces. I do the 2nd half and he's delighted with the outcome of something we have made for him to give for Christmas. I believe an older child will enjoy even the cross-weaving, and the fun that comes with seeing the competed craft. Definitely recommend.

My grandson really enjoys doing potholders and broke his plastic loom. This is a nice strong loom. The loops that come with it are also of a really nice quality. I will probably buy this brand of loop when he runs out again.

I'm the kind of odd person that likes to make a potholder every now and again. They're simple to make, and great for what I call 'ramblings'- where you get the itching to make something, but don't know what!

I had the plastic loom before, and apparently I rambled too much for it- it was to the point where as I was trying to finish the edges of the potholder, the entire thing would slip off due to warping.

I don't have that problem any more, though. It could use a *little* more of a bump to keep the very ends of the loops on, but other than that, I have no complaints at all.

Good product.

When my granddaughter, CJ, first showed an interest in 'sewing', I remembered that my sisters created potholders on a square loom for their first project. I bought a kit locally for her for Christmas, but the loom was plastic and the loops small and colorless. I searched with Google and found that Amazon offered another choice. In this package is a full-sized METAL loom with good sized, colorful loops, that CJ found much easier to work with and which facilitated full-sized, brightly adorned potholders - that she is now sewing together in a patchwork blanket for her cat, 'Kitten'. This product was of the quality I needed and wanted and included enough material to complete six (6) bright potholders. Delivery was quick and CJ was thrilled with this offering. Now I need to know how to buy more colorful loops!

This is sold as a child's toy, I had one when I was a child, however it is a very useful tool for making my favorite hot pot pads. I give them to friends who appreciate them and use them myself. The metal ones are best, will last for years and years.

Thank you so much, the loom is just like the one I had and my grand daughter is having as much fun as I did making Christmas presents. My sisters inherited mine, so I had to get a new one, the quality is the same and will pass to the great grand dauther some day.

Gave this to my 8 year old granddaughter and she promptly made hot pads for all her aunts. Took a little time to master the loops on weave loom but that was part of the learning, she loves it. We gave her the extra large bag of loops also and she has created some beautiful patterns for her squares, she is now attempting a small rug. Would recommend this old fashioned toy to any one that likes to create things. Glad that there is also replacement loops available to order as this extendes the usefulness of this toy.

The loom is nice and durable. My 5 year old nephew went to work right away on it. The last few strands are a little tricky to get in without popping off the cross pieces, especially for a five year old so I did have to offer assistance several times.
