3.0 out of 5 stars Great toy, but sharp edges...not a toy but a collector's item., June 12, 2008

We got this toy because our 4-year old son wanted it for his birthday. He saw it at an episode of Max and Ruby. Even if there were warnings that it wasn't a toy but a collector's item, we still got it anyway and we only play it with him when we are around him. He loves this toy! It's great, it's fun, but I wouldn't leave it around accessible to any kid younger than say 10 years old?? The edges are sharp; the toy won't last unless you take care of it...but it's very classic, adorable and fun!

5.0 out of 5 stars A throwback to the past, March 8, 2007

This reminded me of toys from my youth (early '60s, but I have the feeling it was around much earlier). The only difference is, this one I didn't overwind and break the motor! I viewed a great collection of robot toys from the 60's and earlier at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry, and this item was similar to several they had on display.

This toy is so much fun! you would spend hours and hours playing with this toy. This tin toy robot you didn't just wind the the key and it just broke, even though it has a warning on the box that says "this item is not a toy but a collectors item" I bought it any way. I've wound the key 9 times and it still works so it seems sturdy. Heres a tip don't wind it up more than 9 times, but to be on the safe side wind it a maximum of 7 times. THIS TOY IS AWSOME!!!!!!!!!
