This was given to my daughter as a present for Christmas. And boy, what a present! She's only a year old, but is still having a blast picking out keys to play. You'll watch her toddle over, plunk out a few notes, smile like she is having the time of her life, and go back to other things. Or sometimes she'll just sit at the piano and play to her little heart's content.
I like it because, although the tuning is slightly off, it actually plays the black keys as well as white (parents who are musicians will appreciate this) and because it sounds pretty good! It has a xylophone inside from what I can tell, rather than hammering strings, so it won't go any farther out of tune (BIG plus!). In addition, it's got a gorgous red enamel finish and is of very sturdy construction, so even when my daughter drags it around I know it's not going to break. For her, it's just a really really really neat toy that she totally loves! She even bounced up and down (as many toddlers do) because she couldn't contain the pure joy of having this instrument! |
