We really like this toy at our house! It's true that the directions indicate that the water balloon be filled to 9 cm and that this is often a bit too big to close the ball easily, but if you fill the balloons a bit less, they're fine. Also true is that if you drop the ball, the balloon may pop prematurely, but we just found this part of the fun! The idea is to get a bit wet and play around! I played this with my 8 year old son, and we had great fun. I'm not sure I would pay $20 for this toy, but the $10 range seems reasonable for some good summer fun. With a little practice, you'll be able to fill the balloon to the right size, put it into the ball easily, set the timer and have fun!

you get this thrown at you, and the anxiety sets in, quick get rid of it. the thing has a tic that gets faster and faster, building up tell suddenly, pop. your wet. my son called it splash potato. we all had so much fun with this toy.

This product is not worth the money. I was so disappointed in how difficult it was to put together after each balloon broke. It is NOT the toy I remember using ten or more years ago. Too bad, 'cause it's a great idea for a hot day!

My kids love playing with this but the ball comes apart alot when being tossed and timer stops if even slighltly twisted. Also if the ball is dropped the water balloon pops. I think it could have been designed better, so that the balloon didn't pop if dropped and so the ball would stay together when thrown.

My daughter received this toy as a gift for her 5th birthday, along with 100 water balloons! It is lots of fun, but requires Mom or Dad to spend 30 minutes filling up the balloons and teaching the kids how to put it all together, which is not easy. Since the balloon breaks when it is dropped, the kids get frustrated since no one gets splashed. The timer in ours broke as well from being dropped so now we have lots of water balloons. I'd forego the ball and just buy balloons!

however the actual product does not deliver.
Found this for $[...]at Target this week so thought why not give it a try.
You fill one of the balloons with water then open up the plastic cover and are supposed to be able to put it back together.
One thing if you fill the balloon as much as it says you can (and even comes with a measureing guide on the directions saying it can be 9 inches wide) NO WAY can you fill them that full and still close the toy up!

Also every time you close the toy the timer wants to start even if you never wound it up.

If the toy drops when being tossed from person to person it will burst open and your balloon of course then will pop thus defeating the idea of someone getting spashed on by the balloon getting popped inside the holder.

It did not stay together really well even when filling the balloons to more like a 2inch diamater. No matter how hard we tried it just kept comming apart when we did not intend for it to.

Kids were really disappointed that it just did not work right now I am not sure if maybe ours is defective or what the deal is but even without a balloon inside the ball comes apart far too easily with normal handling.

Will try it again another day and see if any better luck and if so will update but honestly do not pay more than $[...] for this thing.

The kids have wanted this since last spring, and I thought it was too expensive for a water toy. I waited, and right at back-to-school time the price dropped, so I ordered it. I gave it as a first-day-of-school present.

With great excitement, everyone put their bathing suits on, we filled balloons, following the instructions exactly.

We were so disappointed. The ball wouldn't stay together. Not with a balloon, not without a balloon, it wouldn't stay together. That defeats the purpose of the whole toy, it's not a ball you can throw if it is two halves of plastic that won't stay together. Huge disappointment. Save your money.

And by the way, I rarely write negative reviews, but this was a real stinker, and I would hate to have someone spend their money and be disappointed like we all were.

It sounds like fun but it isn't. It's poorly made, doesn't go together well, the timer is hard to operate and it just overall sucks rotten eggs. just get traditional balloons.

This toy is ok, can't say I would buy it again. We have never made it to the timer going off b/c the ball always falls on the ground and breaks before that (my kids are younger & not that skilled with catching lol). That kinda takes the fun out of it for them.

This toy is very disappointing. Hard to use and really does not do much. After a day it was in the trash! My kids called it dumb!
