I had the fashion plates when I was a kid and this is the closest I could find. I wish there was a larger product out there, because it's pretty small and hard to color in the outfits with any details. But, it's portable so came in handy on vacation. The idea of the fashion plates is still there, with patterns on front and back of plates so there are lots of combinations. My 4 and 5 year olds love it.

Pocket size for a little girl to toss in her to do bag, she made dozens of "her designs" in one day. For the price it was a great little find that has been keeping her busy since she opened the box. I will be looking for other products like this by this seller!

My daughter loved it! This is the closest thing to what I remember when I was growing up. It comes with 5 small pieces of paper! That is it!!! I'm not sure it lasted 15 mins. I plan to just cut up some cheap printer paper for my daughter, but it should have come with a pack of papers. Otherwise, the product seems sturdy, and everything is stored in one small container.

My granddaughter is almost 6 and loves this toy. It is just the right size for her to take in the car and on trips. She loves to mix and match the plates to create different pictures which she then colors with the pencils.

I played with a similar product called "Fashion Plates" when I was young, and thought my daughter might enjoy it too. The design is good (or a least is just as I remember it), but the quality of the plastic is poor. The whole thing feels flimsy and brittle, and the drawer will not slide out properly. It is just a matter of time before it breaks. Also the black crayon they include for making the impression/rubbing is just a cheap black crayon. They should have provided a proper rubbing wax crayon because instead of making a clean impression, it just colors most of the paper black.

This is one toy that my 5 year old daughter loves to take with her when she knows that she is going to be somewhere "boring" (i.e. with adults). It is the perfect toy to keep her entertained and it is not noisy! It is small and easily fits in a small purse that we had so it is easy to take along. She loves choosing the different outfits and then coloring them in. The black crayon that come s with the product is a little to dark so I just replaced it with a broken black crayon that we had and now it provides hours of entertainment! Great buy for the price!

I had one of these as a kid, so I knew I had to buy one for our daughter. She LOVES it!!! It doesn't come with enough paper, but it's so easy to cut copy paper into fouths and use it instead.

I remember having one of these when I was younger. It was one of my favorite things to play with. I bought this as a gift for my niece, and she seems to enjoy it. I would recommend this item for younger children, though, perhaps around 4-7. If your child is over 7, I suggest a more sophisticated fashion designing toy. It is durable and travels nicely.

The Pocket Fashion Designer is a good toy for budding fashionistas! almost like the etch a sketch for the new milennium!

I bought this for a co-worker. It took her back down memory lane......Guess we all need to have something from our childhood to remember! She was happy and i didnt hear anything from her for the rest of the day.....
