4.0 out of 5 stars Music and Monsters
Whoever decided to use clips from the radio version of "War of the Worlds" as a framework to this soundtrack collection should
be commended for a wonderful idea. The collection covers much ground, from the fifties monster classics right through today's hits. But it's simply the selection of tunes, many VERY hard to find anywhere else, that makes this a gem...

3.0 out of 5 stars A Question
Love this album, but have a question: why does Amazon list the composer of "Jaws" as Henry Mancini? It was John (Star Wars) Williams!

Whoever decided to use clips from the radio version of "War of the Worlds" as a framework to this soundtrack collection should
be commended for a wonderful idea. The collection covers much ground, from the fifties monster classics right through today's hits. But it's simply the selection of tunes, many VERY hard to find anywhere else, that makes this a gem to fans. It's a joy to hear Bernard Herrmann's cues from "Day the Earth Stood Still" with CD quality sound, the driving sounds of "Predator" in all it's lip-biting glory, and even the groovy theme from "The Blob" to delight the listener. Many wonderful surprises on this CD, and the end of a long quest for long-missing rarities. The entire
collection (this CD is number 3 in the series, methinks) is very much worth the money, and well put-together. But get it here, since this one's getting hard to find in stores! -KS

Buena selección de temas. La grabación de Orson Welles, impagable. Saludos desde Chile
