Book Description

Mystery, intrigue and double stuffed Oreos are back!

On the hunt for her next big story, investigative reporter Taci Andrews stumbles into trouble yet again. When her best friend Annie calls with a medical crisis, Taci smells something - and it isn’t the fish market down by the river. To further complicate things, handsome fireman Tony Parsons is back in her life, armed with a devastating smile that still makes her weak in the knees.

Equipped with her usual witty banter and a bag of Oreos, Taci dives head first into a medical mystery that is more than it seems. Can she stay on track amidst the chaos to solve a mystery, and get her story, or will she become the next headline?

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Quirky one hits home! May 27, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
The second in the series by author Amy Manemann, Deadly Science brings Taci Andrews back for more investigative excitement. Starting up just a few months after the first book, Deadly Reunion, Taci is once again surrounded by her friends and co-workers while she sticks her nose places she probably shouldn't.

Taci is a quick witted and quirky kind of woman who relies on her instinct to help her along. Unfortunately those instincts get her into trouble time and time again. With several men in her life trying to protect her, Taci deals with her flirtatious co-worker Gavyn, her bosses' eccentric son Corey and the man who makes her heart flutter from annoyance to love, Tony Parsons. With her two friends back in the mix also, Annie and Melanie help keep the humor moving and the story interesting.

Author Amy Manemann continues this series in her quirky witty way, keeping you smiling one minute and trying to figure out how Taci is going to get herself out of the next mess she has found herself in. The storyline moves quick and easy and keeps your interest to turn the pages quickly.

Author Amy Manemann also did a great job of leaving you with an awesome cliff hanger. What is Tony Parsons really all about and will Taci Andrews be able to keep herself alive in the next book in the series.

Well done, and looking forward to the next .

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome May 29, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Everything a fun mystery should be. Humorous, suspenseful, romance, and oreos..it's got everything!. The characters are great and the main character had me laughing most of the time. The author is really great at weaving together a larger mystery while developing the characters. Author is also great at building suspense. The end of the book has me wondering and waiting for the next one, definitely adding it to my list of future books.

Where I got the book from: World Literary Cafe

With the second book of the Deadly series, Deadly Science, author Amy Manemann brings back the inquisitive investigative reporter with big city ideas, Taci Andrews. In the small town of Riverdale, located in Iowa, Taci is back to work after busting a major drug ring that has put her name on the lips of everyone in town. Taci has the quick wit of Matlock with a hint of MacGyver meaning that she's always equipped with a theory and just when you think she's down and out, Taci fashions the key to a case that breaks it wide open.

Her next case involving a questionable Dr. Quiliam is told in the first person and falls into her lap after a strange double coincidence. The story begins with a prologue that is a little confusing but Manemann explains the situation on page fifteen so the reader is not left hanging for too long. By page twenty-one, the reader is more clearly introduced to the element of romance between Taci and Tony Parsons, the pretty boy EMT. This is a mystery book but Manemann breaks up the suspense with some comic relief brought to the reader by way of Corey, The Riverdale Times receptionist who enjoys live action roll playing. Set up as a tolerable odd character, Corey proves to be a useful ally to Taci in the twenty-fifth hour.

There are points in the book where there's an increased focus on Taci's love life and personal life. It can be distracting at times but gives the reader greater insight into what makes the reporter tick.
