This book has a lot of really interesting facts about all sorts of subjects, and it's easy to understand. I've had it for five years (since 2nd grade) and I love it.

However, parents should probably read this with children (not just because it's interesting for adults too) because it explains how babies are born. Also, when the books talks about organs, there are some photographs of dissected animals.

My parents bought me this book when I was 9 years old. More than 25 years later, I have kept it, taken great care of it, and brought it with me through numerous moves and incarnations of my life. This book has GREAT information - it's a shame that it is out of print.

I used this book as a reference for 'how does?' or "why does...?" for many years. I am excited that I'm going to get to let my children read my copy when they get older, as it deals with all sorts of science categories, including human anatomy and reproduction, in a sensitive and appropriate manner for children to read. It made sense to me when I was a child reading this book, and the concepts I learned from thumbing through its pages set the stage for successful science learning during the entirety of my school career.
