More About the Author

Because of the inquiry techniques used by her ninth grade science teacher, Julia Cothron became a science educator. Subsequently, she taught hundreds of teachers successful strategies for incorporating scientific research into all classrooms and supported students engaged in independent research projects. For her work, she has been recognized by the Virginia Science Teachers Association and the Educational Press Association of America. Although the "high stakes testing movement" has negatively impacted student research, Dr. Cothron looks forward to a resurgence of interest as the Next Generation Science Standards and Framework are implemented. Currently, she is reviewing her materials for revisions related to these standards.

I am currently using this as a supplement to my high school enviro sci, bio and apenv sci classes and enjoying it. I am considering teaching an entire class on research methods next year and this and it's companion (the red one) are definitely what I would choose to use. A few more questions at the ends of the chapter and more info on statistical tests would have been useful but still 5 stars
