4.0 out of 5 stars Not Free SF Reader
Another of the iBooks shorter Year's Best SF series. As far as being good goes, there is no doubt the stories are good, with a 3.62 average, but as far as these sort of books goes, that is on the low end of the scale, but similar to the 2002 (a bit lower), that I have already read.

Stross and Bacigalupi the standouts.

This anthology was excellent last year, containing most of the Hugo-nominated short fiction. As a result, our SF discussion group (about a dozen regulars) chose it for our annual anthology selection. There was unanimous disappointment. It contained a variety of stories and some well-known writers, but nothing that many people liked. The most positive response was that one group member liked two of the stories. Opinions went downhill from there....There were even a lot of typos.
Maybe it was a bad year.
