A Review of The Science of Oneness by Swami Abhayananda,

REVIEW OF MALCOLM HOLLICK'S THE SCIENCE OF ONENESS
We are in a revolutionary time, when the best minds around the globe are being opened to a universal wave of spiritual understanding, and it is a time when many are particularly cognizant of the inadequacies of the prevalent `religion' of scientific materialism which, having reached its zenith, is giving way to its antithesis. It is a `paradigm shift' that is taking place at this time in the world; and there are a very few exceptional minds, with a wealth of knowledge about the present state of the many facets of science, and an equally reflective overview of the `spiritual' perspective, who are capable of presenting as informed and impassioned an outline of the elements and ramifications of this present paradigm shift as is Malcolm Hollick. His book, The Science of Oneness, is filled with extraordinary information, both scientific and philosophical; and he leads the reader cautiously and gently toward the possibility of a spiritual worldview that takes into consideration the accumulated wisdom of the current molders of our modern culture as well as of the great seers of antiquity. He is not himself a seer, and he doesn't pretend to be; but he is an articulate proponent of the great paradigm shift, and an excellent teacher and guide on the explorative journey toward a thoughtful and informed understanding of both the scientific and the spiritual perspectives. I found it a wonderful read, and I highly recommend it. -- Swami Abhayananda

Bringing it all together,

This review is from: The Science of Oneness: A Worldview for the Twenty-First Century (Paperback)
I was attracted to this book by its title - it lives up to it. I thought I had a pretty good feel about quantum mechanics but Hollick introduces a digestible and integrative digest of its implications. It seems up to date, and explores boundaries of knowledge and does it very well indeed.
Clearly written and logically presented it explores the dualistic nature of sub atomic particles and implications, on connectiveness and entanglement, the discoveries of science pointing where the sages have been pointing - all in the same direction. A very readable book, even for the layperson. No it doesnt introduce new aspects of science but it does bring diverse aspects of science together creating a feeling of me being totally insignificant and an integral connected part of a system (or am I creating that with my consciousness?). Whatever, this is a remarkable book for its breadth and the way it is woven together to leave one feeling at one as the author intended. I am however puzzled why this book is not more popular than it appears to be given the few reviews it has received. The highlighting pen has worked overtime including for its second read. An outstanding overview. Well done Malcolm!

DEEP AND WIDE,
This review is from: The Science of Oneness: A Worldview for the Twenty-First Century (Paperback)
This is a book of great depth and breadth. Informative, inspiring and extremely clear. Recommended for all those who have recognised that 'oneness' is the big idea' for the 21st century. (And I'm not saying that just because the author has some nice things to say about my own books!)

After reading 2/5ths of the book,
This review is from: The Science of Oneness: A Worldview for the Twenty-First Century (Paperback)
Malcolm Hollicks book "The Science of Oneness" offers the reader a good view of much contemporary scientific discoveries, and draws conclusions that are useful in connecting our current everday experience with these discoveries. My only criticism is that occasionally Malcolm puts in a throw-away line that weakens what is otherwise a thoroughly good and easy readable text (an example is the line about aliens being on Earth and being responsible for crop circles, for instance). The book is almost encyclopedic in its sweep and breadth, and is well referenced in its findings. As he includes Christopher Fry's "A Sleep of Prisonners" at the end how could I give it any less than 4 stars! Whilst I personally don't have any problems with its length, I can understand why some may be a little daunted.

Wonderful book connecting science with the mystical world view.,

This review is from: The Science of Oneness: A Worldview for the Twenty-First Century (Paperback)
This book is an outstanding piece of work making connections between various scientific disciplines and the mystical world view. Of course many people today point to the link between quantum theory and mysticism - the interconnectedness of all things and the underlying field of consciousness/god/zero point field. However, this book rigorously reviews the relationships and with fascinating argument, takes us to place of wonder and deep appreciation and understanding.
