This review is from: Science Question of the Day: 180 Standards-Based Questions That Engage Students in Quick Review of Key Content-and Get Them Ready for the Tests (Paperback)
Sometimes I just don't have it in me to write a good daily bellwork question. Happily, when I feel this way, this book has a broad selection of solid science questions I can use as is, or easily tailor to fit my daily objective.

I have the students read the question and then work in pairs to prepare solid answers to write in their notebooks. The book contains a mix of multiple choice and short answer questions and I generally require the students to recast the multiple choice questions into a short paragraph in which they explain why they chose a particular answer as correct and why they rejected the other answers.

Generally the questions lead to good discussions and can be used to lead into the rest of the day's learning. It takes my students 3-5 minutes to develop good answers, which gives me just enough time to complete attendance before we have a quick discussion. The 8-10 minutes total are very well spent.

I really like this book. It gives me a quick handout to my students to reinforce those concepts they are trying to answer. My students like to see them every week.
