Editorial Reviews

From School Library Journal

Grade 2-4-With large, colorful illustrations, an attractive layout, and step-by-step instructions, this engaging activity book invites readers to try out approximately 50 science experiments. After welcoming children to "Science School," a smiling teacher wearing a lab coat introduces matter, heat, air and water, forces, light, sound, and electricity. Each section begins with a paragraph of information and concludes with two to three relevant hands-on activities. "Science Tips" provide additional facts (such as how water evaporates, how shadows are formed, etc.). Most of the supplies can be found at home. Intended for home use or as a supplement to the science curriculum, the experiments are certain to pique children's interest and encourage them to reexamine common objects and occurrences. Although designed to introduce basic concepts, many of the activities may also be useful for formulating science-project ideas. Overall, a unique "school in a book" that markets science as a series of stimulating facts and activities.

This review is from: Science School (Paperback)
This book (one in a series) is terrific for young children who are interested in Science.
It is full of cool experiments and projects that even a 3 year old can perform.
My 5-year old did the first 3 chapters in the same day.
All the experiments call for things EASILY found around the house.
We used it in our MOMS Club as a guide for our "Science Kids" events and ages 3-8 loved learning with this fun science book. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
