5.0 out of 5 stars Comprehensive and scientific
This multiple DVD set was just what I was waiting for. Rather than just a pep talk and a few tricks, this DVD set is made for the serious triathlete. The DVDs really got into the nitty-gritty about how the body performs under stressful situations- and further, how to exploit what our bodies can do in order to reach higher levels of performance. I feel that I can really...

Doon't waste your money. This was a poor taping of parts of a few triathlon training sessions. I'm sure that these guys are great coaches but they should have hired some production help. There are lots of advertisements for their camps and books and websites but the sound quality is poor and the video isn't much better.

There are about 20 minutes of...

There are about 20 minutes of helpful information spread out over a 9 hour series of recordings. Go to the camp and forget the DVD.

1.0 out of 5 stars A waste of money, December 5, 2008

If you know the book "The Triathlete's Training Bible" you should not buy these DVD's. Nothing new, lots of advertisement.

4.0 out of 5 stars Triathlon Theory and Practise DVD, October 16, 2005
This review is from: Science of Triathlon: Triathlon Lecture Series Featuring Joel Friel and Wes Hobson (DVD)
I found it to be a fairly good DVD.
Aldo I accepted to get more out of 2 DVD's
They just filmed what they teach u at one of there training camps and I expected a little bit more. The info they give u on the other hand is very good (but if your own triathlon bible Joe Friel) your not going to hear al lot of new thing

4.0 out of 5 stars Lots of good info, but you can probably learn as much or more by buying books, November 11, 2010
This review is from: Science of Triathlon: Triathlon Lecture Series Featuring Joel Friel and Wes Hobson (DVD)
If you're more of a visual learner, this is probably a good investment. It's almost like sitting in on a tri camp, so there's lot's of good info. Of course with the internet and the wealth of solid triathlon books, you can do just as well with other resources. But it's a nice change of pace watching a lecture series.

As other reviewers have noted, the production qualities aren't the greatest. It didn't really bother me; I wasn't expecting a Hollywood production. I also was more interested in content than presentation. But if you're expecting high production qualities, you will be disappointed. The production quality certainly didn't inhibit the content distribution, however.

So generally I'd recommend this to the serious triathlete, assuming you've already got a small library of books and have spent a little time with a swim coach. If you haven't done these things yet, you'd probably get more bang for your buck that way, though.
