An Ig Nobel Effort, May 24, 2008
This review is from: A Scientific Approach to Christianity (Paperback)
This is not "Dr" Faid's first effort. Read his Wikipedia entry: "In 1993, Faid was awarded the Ig Nobel prize for Mathematics for calculating the exact odds that Mikhail Gorbachev is the Antichrist, based on his 1988 book Gorbachev! Has the Real Antichrist Come?"
"I am absolutely serious about this," Faid was quoted as saying when awarded the Ig Nobel prize, "and I am surprised that people would make a joke of it. I have shown from the history of the 'kings' (general secretaries) in the Soviet Union and from the Book of Revelations [sic] that there is an 860,609,175,188, 282,100 to 1 chance that Gorbachev is the Antichrist who will return to power by overthrowing Yeltsin and who will then overwhelm the West by violence." [1] His prediction was based on numerology involving the spelling of Gorbachev's name in several languages and combinations of the Number of the Beast, 666, with its opposite 888, the Number of Jesus."
This is Mr Faid's "science." If you are looking for "scientific" reasons, to believe, you just don't have enough faith. It would be easy to laugh this book off Amazon, but "Dr." Grant Jeffries and other "evangelicals" cite this comic book as some sort of reason to believe. It isn't.

A good book, December 27, 2000
This review is from: A Scientific Approach to Christianity (Paperback)
This is a continuation of his first book and delves into some of the less significant mysteries. They will continue to be 'mysteries', but Faid explains one way in which nature could make the various mysteries happen. I enjoyed his explanations of the individual mysteries from a biblical perspective, then his relating it to the natural world. It helped me to better accept the biblical mysteries, knowing that his explanation is only one of the possible explanations. I didn't think it was mindless or senseless at all. Course, some of us don't even think Jesus is God. Those people will have a problem with this book.

A must for every christian., December 22, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: A Scientific Approach to Christianity (Paperback)
This is a great book. Mr. Faid has laid out his arguments very logically and in simple terms. Until I read this book I thought I was doing God a favour by believing in him in spite of all the lack of hard evidence, but on reading it I felt I felt so small. I said to myself, "here's all the evidence one can ask for and you thought you were doing God a favour". Great book.
