Spa Science is probably more of a recipe than a science experiment, but is still alot of fun. Girls mix fragrances and bases into fun bath prodcuts. Some fizz and release bubbles (carbon dioxide-hense the science part). My 10 yr old dughter enjoys mixing things and creating new blends of ingredients, so this kit was right up her alley. Alot of fun for all girls. It may transfer into an interest in science, but science is not the main focus of the kit.

Just the thing for a nine year old girl. Enough beauty features to be of interest to her yet not too much perfumy smells nor dangerous features. Easy to use even without an adult around. I would still be around in case of spills or error.

I bought this kit for my 7yo, and she and her 4yo sister enjoyed making soap & bath salts (we still haven't made the bath fizzes). It's a fun activity for a mom to do with her girls. That said, the kit of mostly valuable for the recipes. Most of the items in the kit (oatmeal, baking soda, citric acid, sea salt, rose petals) I already had at home, and the others (fragrances, 1 glycerin soap) I could buy at Michael's for far less money. But I'm not sorry I bought it as a first kit.

Daughter is 4 and we had lots of fun putting this together. Good idea to keep track of the original experiment quantities if you want to repeat them down the road. Really simple stuff and probably easy to replicate without the kit, but well organized and convenient. You need access to your kitchen and some heat source. Along with measuring devices.

I was pretty impressed with this kit. I ordered it for my 9 year old daughter for Christmas and she had everything out and was in the kitchen in minutes. We dove right in and made some lovely bath bombs and oatmeal soap right off the bat. The instructions were easy to follow. The kit comes with just about everything you need, and what it doesn't come with is easily acquired. This kit can be used over and over again, because the ingredients aren't too complicated to find and the instructions are simple.

As for education value, this kit really doesn't hit home. But for me, that was not a down fall. It was still a lot of fun, a great way for me and my child to do something together and for her to do with her friends.

The child I got this for said she made a big mess but she loved it. It seemed to be more about the mess and "spa" idea than the science.

My niece has very little interest in science, but as scientists, it is something my husband and I try to encourage. This did exactly what we were hoping. It showed her that science is interesting. At first she had no interest in the kit, but after making her first spa fizz ball, she became very interested in how the spa things were made and loved using her creations.

my daughter had a blast making the spa items in this set. i'd give it as a gift in a heartbeat.

This is a good concept, but it seems like more should be included in the kit. You can make a facial and some bath fizzy things...but not a whole lot else. However, the experiments it did come with worked.

This is the second time I bought this kit, this time for my younger daughter. she loves it just as much as her older sister did when we bought it for her. Older sister got very excited, and led younger sister through various activities. Good for 8-10 year olds
