Biography

It was 2009, and Jake Shears was in Berlin. Dancing. “There were nights when I’d look out
into the crowd and it would look timeless. I wouldn’t know what decade we were in.”
In fact, it was three years after the release of Scissor Sisters’ second album (like its
predecessor, it had sold over a million copies in the UK alone), and one year ahead of the
band’s third. As he looked out over the mass of… Read more in Amazon's Scissor Sisters Store

Editorial Reviews

A genre and gender-defying mix of rock, pop, and dance inspired by burlesque, drag queens, and glam rock, New York’s Scissor Sisters made a big splash in late 2003/early 2004 with their neon-bright re-imagining of Pink Floyd’s "Comfortably Numb," the B-side to the band’s first single "Electrobix."

They have topped album charts, selling out concert venues and scoring hit after hit in the UK and much of Europe. They have won praise from the praise from Kylie Minogue, Duran Duran, and Elton John.

"Scissor Sisters Remixed!" features the remix versions (including exclusives) by Tiga, and A Touch of Class of the group’s hit songs "Comfortably Numb," "Electrobix," and "Filthy Gorgeous."

5.0 out of 5 stars Scissor Sisters Again!, November 24, 2004
By
This review is from: Scissor Sisters Remixed (Audio CD)
This is an EP any Scissor sisters fan should get. Remixes of their hits are found here with entirely different flavors. The ATOC Vs Superbuddha Remix of Filhty Gorgeous and the ATOC Dub Remix of Comfortably Numb lend to the originals and a funkier rock sound that typically brings the house now.

In typical 80's retro/electro-clash style, there is this nice gem called The Skins. Their very first single Electrobix ispresented in its 12" Mix here and the song is a fast-paced edgy electronic song. The Hungry Wives Remix of Electrobix transports you back to the 80's days of Duran Duran/Depeche Mode new waveness with great relish.

There are also extended versions of Filthy Gorgeous and Comfortably Numb on the CD which could have been replaced by more remixes.

Still, this is a great collection of remixes and songs from the band who brought some great life to music in 2004.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT SCISSORING!, August 25, 2005
This review is from: Scissor Sisters Remixed (Audio CD)
I Love this album, they did a great job remixing their songs and 2 b-sides. Electrobix wich talks about being gay and feeling weird and The Skins which talks about cheating on someone via internet. The remixes are great especially the FILTHY/GORGEOUS remix!

5.0 out of 5 stars My new favorite, January 28, 2005
This review is from: Scissor Sisters Remixed (Audio CD)
This is just one of those "happy" cds that makes you get really pumped as you listen to it. It really grows on you, and each song is catchy. I have over 1500 CDs in my collection, and I rarely find a CD that I can put on and enjoy it the whole way through. This is definitely one of those cds. I hear they put on a great concert too! I'm seeing them this Sunday! They are the hottest group out right now! I'm so happy I discovered them...
