These one piece handsets are good for VOIP users who run a phone from their laptop. I use MagicJack on my laptop and this Hospital Phone works great. It doesn't take up space, doesn't need a base and it packs well when I need to pack up my laptop and go.
On the side there is a ringer toggle: low/high/off.
On the front, above the nice large number keys, is the phone on/off which lights up when you press for dialtone.
Below the keypad is a volume button and a flash button.
The reason I bought this phone: I had a similar phone, much older, and several people I spoke with over MagicJack said I echoed so I tried this phone - echo gone. And it sounds pretty good - via Magic of on a copper line. Solid basic phone, nothing fancy, $12, how can you go wrong?

The phone works great but it's very large but it was the only one I could find that was standalone. I used it with my MagicJack in Germany.

The buttons are big and lighted, the ringer light is bright red, the cord is long enough and it is a fantastic phone for my mom who is in a nursing home. No cradle to locate and she can keep it on her bed, on her portable meal table. Very nice.

I travel and take my Vonage box with me so a phone was needed. This one works well and due to the on/off switch a second piece is not needed. It would have been great to have something smaller, but this is not too large to pack and take along.

At a size of 8" x 2.5" x 2" this phone was much bulkier than I expected. Also, Caller ID would be a nice plus.

I purchased this unit to use it for my MajicJack phone calls, generally, the unit is Ok but it is very bulky and not easy to carry, there are better and smaller units in the market, i don't recommend anyone to buy this unit
