4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty darn good game
This game is one of the best i've played for the gamecube so far. It's challenging, has a nice plot, takes a fair amount of time to complete, and has some comical elements as well. Some areas of the game are so challenging they're frustrating, and you'll be so happy when you get through it you'll quickly run to a mystery machine to save the game so you don't have to go...

This game is one of the best i've played for the gamecube so far. It's challenging, has a nice plot, takes a fair amount of time to complete, and has some comical elements as well. Some areas of the game are so challenging they're frustrating, and you'll be so happy when you get through it you'll quickly run to a mystery machine to save the game so you don't have to go through it again. It challenges you to think about how to get some of the monster tokens and some of the scooby snacks. The puzzles aren't super difficult, but they do give a fair amount of difficulty. i really like the cut scenes in the game; they remind me so much of the cartoon and they're cool. The only thing that keeps me from giving the game a perfect 5 stars is that all of the bosses (except for the mastermind) are too easy to defeat. everything else about the game is exceptional. The game is definitely worthy for buying.

4.0 out of 5 stars An easy, relaxed game, July 24, 2004
= Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Scooby Doo: Night of 100 Frights (Video Game)
For those of you who are tired of games that are prone to inducing epileptic seizures then Scooby Doo!: Night of 100 Frights is the kind of simple game you should get into.

The story has Shaggy, Fred, Daphne and Velma get kidnapped by The Mastermind (Tim Curry, in his second outing as a Scooby Doo baddie) and Scooby must rescue them from a spooky mansion.

Not the most imaginative of plots but it's loads of fun playing Scooby. The levels are kind of easy at first but complicate, only slightly, soon after the first power up. You get infinite lives so if there is a certain level you get stuck at, you can try again and again until you get it right.

The opening cut-scene has very bad graphics but the graphics of the actual game are nice and colorful. The music is pleasant enough but it gets slightly annoying after a while.

Definitely a game for children of 5 years and up (um...adults too) as the puzzles are not too heavy and the gameplay is light and easy. Worth the money for sure. The only bad part of the game is the inability to control the viewpoint. Many lives are lost because you cannot see where Scooby is jumping to. It's a minor complaint of an otherwise cool game.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nicely Done, May 31, 2003
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Scooby Doo: Night of 100 Frights (Video Game)
The folks at THQ did a fine job of making this game. You can play it for hours and hours. This is how the ratings go:

Graphics: 4.5/5
The graphics are very nice. They're clean and look very realistic.

Controls: 4.5/5
The controls are very easy to learn and handle. Moving Scooby Doo at times can be difficult, but not to often.

Storyline: 4/5
The storyline is what you'd expect. Scooby and the gang are called to solve a case of a disapperance of Daphne's friend's uncle, the famous inventor Alexander Grahm. The gang splits up. Scooby and Shaggy are together and Shaggy gets kidnapped. Scooby is all alone and thats when you first take control.

Fun: 4.5/5
The game overall is a blast. I'm 12 and it is still a fun game. you have to go to different places and collect monster puppets of classic villains from the show, such as the Creeper and Witch Doctor. It can be challenging at times, but it is worth it. I feel this game is an instant buy.

4.0 out of 5 stars This is more of a teenager game and not a "kids" game, July 5, 2004

This review is from: Scooby Doo: Night of 100 Frights (Video Game)
When I first borrowed this game, I thought it was cute but not so cute that I would want to buy it. But then one of my best friends bought this game for my birthday and now I LOVE this game!!!! This is actually a "hard" game and it's not those kinds of games that you could finish in just one day. My friend and I just take turns playing and it's pretty hard. We have gotten pretty far in the game (about 48%) and we both just love it. So if you are a Scooby Fan and you want something to keep you busy, this is the game for you. In my opinion this is a game that is hard for little kids and it won't be good for them to play with. I think the right age for this game is 12 & up.

I've played them all, but only this one gives me the nostalgia of the original show! It even has the show's laugh track in it!! the weapons and items, the scenary, everything in this game is scoobyrific!!!! And the fact that you fight against classic scooby villians makes it all the sweeter!!! Do yourself a favor oh scooby fans. . .play this game!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Guaranteed Fun!, May 2, 2006
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: Scooby Doo: Night of 100 Frights (Video Game)
I've played this game more than once. But I have to admit I never finished it because it became too hard late in the game. Not to say that I won't sometime. The thing is it's really fun. Game Play is smooth. And you can explore many great areas and worlds. It's true to the cartoon. Don Knotts is even a character in the game. The story is good, the monsters are great, the scenery is great. Let me caution you against playing the game with cheats. As the game can not be finished that way. That's according to Nintendo themselves. And there is no ActionReplay code for it. This is one great game set in a myriad of haunted worlds.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good FUN game for the money, September 12, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Scooby Doo: Night of 100 Frights (Video Game)
This game isn't going to win any awards, but it's just FUN. The graphics aren't the best, the sounds aren't the best but the controls are good, it has the original actors voices and it's just down right fun. There's plenty of action and challenge for gamers of all ages. I got tired of full tilt serious competition games on life and first person shooters, i just wanted some sensless fun and Scooby delivers. You can't go wrong picking this game up if you want some fun, it's only $19 new and i bought mine used for $15.

4.0 out of 5 stars Addictive game fun, January 24, 2004

I bought the GameCube for my 4 year old son for christmas. He is very well adept to computer games and internet so I thought this would be a change of pace.
This game is great. I even get in on it. Some of the moves Scooby has to make are difficult and he needs some help, but all in all, he loves it.
There are many levels to this game and I HIGHLY recommend getting a memory card to save the game. You save it in parts and we have been playing now for 3 weeks or so and are only 50% thru the game, and beleive me, we play it alot.
The object is to get thru the playground, Hedge maze and Fishing village and the mansion to find all of your friends who got 'lost' while finding inventions to help you thru your journey. We got stuck a few times, but found out way.
I recommend this game for everyone. Lots of fun.
