I just purchased this book for my Scooby-lovin' first grade daughter. The story and illustrations are cute - not scary. Perfect for a 5 or 6 year-old. The age states K-grade 2, however, an average K - grade 1 child will not be able to read this without help. The sentences are short, but many of the words are on a 2nd grade level. This book has such a cute ending - especially if your little one loves dogs!

I was buying for my nephew who is learning to read more and more. He is loves Scooby Doo. He jumped up and down when he unwraped them. I read the books myself first. I loved them. My sister said he is already starting to recite some of the words back before she says them. Great gift. I would recommend to anyone. These are the two I got.
