Classic Scooby Doo @ his best. The first mystery "That's Snow Ghost" is about a snow monster at a lodge. The gang goes out with a big boom at the end. In "Go Away Ghost Ship" Scooby and the gang go to a ghost ship that is haunted by the Ghost of Redbeard. Can the gang wrap up the case before they become Ghost Pirate Stew?

Maybe 3 1/2 stars is more accurate. There are some better Scooby episodes like "Hassle In The Castle," "The Headless Horseman of Halloween," "A Night of Fright Is No Delight," and "Scooby Doo And A Mummy Too." But all in all, this video tape is worth buying. "That's Snow Ghost" has some plausible but creepy scenery. The snow ghost is mentioned, and we are allowed to think it is pure nonsense. Then the snow ghost's first appearance is both shocking and funny. Velmah gets to carry the whole gang in their panic. Shaggy's one liners are there: "This ski trip has turned into a real scare trip." Scooby has to deal with being suddenly separated from Shaggy and Velmah, and he gets to be Velmah's hero at a crucial moment. The recluse is an interesting guest star, and the flashback is not only well done, but it connects to the present quite well. You'll probably know who the Snow Ghost is on the faster side, but remember, they only have a half an hour to tell a story. Granted: Other Scooby episodes have stronger misleads, but this is still a good episode. "Go Away Ghost Ship" is also a really good episode. We have some nice spooky scenery that is still plausible. The mislead is fairly well done. Scooby steals Shaggy's food. The scenery of the ghost ship is surprisingly well done. Velmah and Daphne make an attempt at some one liners: VELMAH "Maybe they're haunting for a new house." DAPHNE "Or out with some old goul friends." Shaggy and Scooby get into serious trouble, and their attempt to buy time by making pirate ghost stew is well done. (Chances are you won't forget the ingredients they used.) Shaggy comes back with some hilarious moments, especially when his attempt at the password is what works. (I don't want to spoil that funny moment for you.) But it displays clever humor. On one hand, we know Shaggy would have probably used that password; but on the other hand, we know the pirates would never have used that as a password, and that's what makes it funny. I don't want to spoil the ending, but I will say Shaggy and Scooby (after sharing some Scooby snacks for energy) show just how capable they are when they're not running in fright. The ending is plausible which gives it an edge. All in all, I think better Scooby exists, but no Scooby fan should be without this tape.

Actually I haven't opened it yet. It's a birhtday gift for my son. He will get it on July 24th. After which I'll be more than happy to let you know anything about this video. The time in which I received it was very timely. Thank you
