Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com

In the animated feature that precedes this CD, Scooby Doo joins up with Velma, Shaggy, and the gang to solve the mystery of the Witch's Ghost. Both silly and spooky, the soundtrack features tunes from Witch's Ghost, as well as selections from its predecessor, and original songs by the Hex Girls, who were assembled for this project. Headed up by former Go-Go Jane Wiedlin, the Hex Girls posture and bounce through their numbers, copping sounds from rocker-girl progenitors Pat Benatar, Blondie's Debbie Harry, and Wiedlin's old chipmunk-punk crew. Delightfully daffy, rhyme schemes run toward "The Witch's Ghost / if she catches us we're toast" and we got "packs and packs and packs / of Scooby snacks." Littered with 'toon talk like "Zoinks!" and "Jinkies!" the disc packs a playful wallop with Billy Ray Cyrus hamming up Scooby's famous surf-rock theme song. A Hanna-Barbera classic for the next generation. --Paige La Grone

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Movie=Great Music!, October 27, 2000
By A Customer
I bought this when I bought Scooby Doo and The Witch's ghost and I listened to the CD first to get myself acustom to the music from the movie. The songs on it are pretty catchy and at least they put the songs that were featured in Scooby on Zombie Island which are also catchy. That was a nice added bonus. They tried to stay to music that would be like watching the original Scooby Doo Where are You [Try to stay to the feeling of the scene [Chase Scenes, etc.] I would recommend this to anyone who like Scooby Doo and the music. My Favorite Songs on the CD are: "Earth,Wind,Fire and Air" and "Hex Girl"

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderfully hip and entertaining, October 12, 1999
By A Customer
Everything about this CD is great. I was extremely happy to see that it contained the songs: "The Ghost is Here" and "Terror Time". I was disappointed when "Scooby Doo on Zombie Island" was released and it didn't have a soundtrack. The only thing that remotely disappointed me is that the disk doesn't contain the Scooby Doo theme song that was performed by Third Eye Blind. But otherwise this disc is perfect! I recommend it to everyone who likes to have a good time while listening to music!

5.0 out of 5 stars Scooby-Doo rocks in this CD, October 26, 2000
This CD is totally cool. It features songs from the movie Scooby-Doo & the Witch's Ghost. The one's I personally think are the best are #s 2 thru 5, 7, and 10 thru 12. The songs by the Hex Girls are really great. Number's 10 and 11 are from the movie S.D. On Zombie Island. The beats in all the songs are really "hoppy" (seems the only accurate term if somewhat odd) and the lyrics are really great to listen to. Some lyrics might be misinterpretted by children who may believe in ghosts, witches, and/or witchcraft (Hex Girl & The Ghost Is Here). This soundtrack is a must buy for any Scooby-Doo fan, or any party-beat lovers.
