where is the ending?,
By Kim Gately (Cloverdale, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Scoop (Godmothers) (Kindle Edition)
i love fern michaels and her sequels but this particlular book just ended without an ending You were left hanging there I understand another book is on its way but she always finds a way to conclude a book even though a seguel is on its way This one made me think I had a misprint I was looking for a few more chapters to close it out It is not her best work Its not even remotely close to the quality of the first ten of the sisterhood series

Left Hanging!!,
This review is from: The Scoop (Godmothers) (Paperback)
I have to say that I agree with the readers that felt as though there was no conclusion to this book. While I too understand that there is another book on the way I felt as though there was no conclusion to the characters from this book. Always in the past Fern Michaels has at the very least given us a conclusion to the main characters of a book and then given us a hint of what to expect with the sequel. I felt as though there should have been additional pages to this book and that I was left hanging. It was almost as if she wrote this at the end of the TV Season and wanted us to hang on until the new season started.

Fern Michaels has started another great series.the Godmothers are wonderful, funny, sweet, and I wish I could join the group. I liked the Sisterhood, but the Godmothers are the best and I am so looking forward to the next one. These ladies are the seasoned friends and a hoot! You'll laugh and cry thru the whole book. Worst Fern Michaels ever,
This review is from: The Scoop (Godmothers) (Paperback)
As a long time Fern Michaels reader, I feel I should be given a refund for having bought this book. The writing was very poor and there wasn't really a story line. So Toots bought her daughter's tabloid??? Where is the story??? Where the rest of what story there was?? Why should I pay $11 for half a book??4 grumpy old ladies just don't cut it. I am in that age group and I sincerely hope I am not as bad as these ladies are. I had hoped that finally someone was writing a good book with older ladies as the heroines, but this book wasn't it. Don't waste your money on this one. If you really want to see what the story is, go to a second-hand store. I am sure there will be lots of this book on the shelves soon.

THIS BOOK IS THE BEGINING OF A NEW SERIES AND SHOULD GIVE US A LOT OF LAUGHS AND SEE THE BAD GUYS GET THEIR DUE PUNISHMENT. HER CHARACTERS MAKES YOU LOOK FORWARD TO BEING A SENIOR CITIZEN WITH A FLAIR TO KNOW HOW TO LOOK AFTER THE YOUNG. MICHAELS CREATES BOOKS THAT YOU WANT TO TURN THE NEXT PAGE AND REGRET YOU'VE TURNED THE LAST PAGE AND HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE NEXT ONE. THIS SERIES SHOULD EQUAL THE SISTER HOOD AND THAT SERIES WAS THE BEST.

Being a long time Fern Michaels fan, I found this book to be refreshing and a fun read. The author has always been a great story teller, and I am looking forward to the continuing saga. Not having been a fan of the "Sisterhood" series, this book reminds me of some of the earlier works, of which I have read them all and greatly enjoyed. Looking forward to the development of the cast of characters (my favorite kind of book).

I have never read Fern Michaels before. This is a relaxed, easy read that allows one's imagination to enhance the humor. One of those books where I couldn't help but laugh out loud. I am looking forward to reading this new series by Michaels. Hooray for strong adventurous women!

Friends for life,
By
This review is from: The Scoop (Godmothers) (Paperback)
The main character in the new series is Theresa Amelia but Toots to her friends. After what seems like enough morning for her latest husband ( a week) since she has been married eight times she feels that is enough and now she must move on.When she hears a daughter Abby might be out of a job from the gossip magazine where she works Toots decides she has to get involved but not without the help of her three dear friends. Ida who is a little obsessive and her overweight friend Mavis who will not go anywhere without Cocco her chihuahua and last but not least is Sophie the smoker. One call from Toots and they all come running to offer there help They are wonderful friends and will do anything for Toots who has helped everyone of them in different ways now want to help make sure that her dear sweet independent Abby does not loose her job. The plan is to purchase the paper at a cost of ten million dollars without telling Abby. Toots makes a deal to purchase the paper for ten million dollars but when the publisher takes the money and runs to the Caynman Islands that is when all the fun, love and help pull this team together to make it work. As always Ms. Michaels is a favorite of mine and once you read this she will become a favorite of yours also. The only problem is once you finish it you are gonna be frustrated like me to find out what happens next. This is destined to be a NY Times best seller book in know time at all. I recommend the book and it is a wonderful feeling to know like in the sisterhood friends do jump to help those in trouble. A great read now how long do we have to wait for the sequel???????????

Wait for the next scoop?,
This review is from: The Scoop (Godmothers) (Paperback)
It seems money can get anything and Toots has a lot of money. She wants to come to the rescue of her daughter Abby who writes and wants to continue writing for a gossip paper. There is a lot of cynical talk from the women, Toots, Abby and the 3 friends known as the godmothers; but I guess one would be cynical if you had been married as many times as Toots has been and had the problems her friends have had. They could be loveable characters, despite their vices (which are really not very shocking in this day and time) if there was just a bit more depth. They all join together to visit and help Abby in California and that is the adventure. The book is a fast read and then you come to a screeching halt in the last few pages where I felt horribly cheated. Abby says she is working on a scoop and everyone wonders what it is; she hasn't been told of her mother's plan to help her and I sat there looking for the rest of the book...it should have said to be continued.......
