About the Author
Vera Schwarcz is the author of five books. The most recent, Bridge Across Broken Time: Chinese and Jewish Cultural Memory (Yale University Press, 1999) was a finalist for the National Jewish Book Award. Born and raised in Romania, Schwarcz teaches Chinese history at Wesleyan University in Connecticut. This is her first book of poems. Schwarcz is a winner of the Guggenheim Fellowship and poetry grants from the Wesleyan Writers Conference as well as from Great River Arts in Patzcuaro, Mexico. She lives in West Hartford, Connecticut with her husband and two children.
