First, crystal litter is the best I've used. All other litters track more and create much more dust. Note that I have tried all litter incuding Worlds best cat litter ect. So, I was looking for an automatic litter box that could use crystal litter. Since I had a gift certificate, I figured I would try this box. After two months I am still not disappointed. The engineering and design are excellent. You replace the entire bottom of the litter box, which is made out of cardboard, every time you change the litter. No mess or cleaning of the mechanism necessary. I know that there have been complaints about soggy cartridges. Well, my cartidges have a thin sheet of plastic on the bottom (they all do now). This has the dual effect of helping the mechanism slide and preventing my cat, who is a digger, from tearing through the bottom of the litter box. My cat loves to drink, pee and dig and I have not had any soggy litter box problem. In addition, the rake goes in both directions which insures an even spread of litter.

Although the cartidges my be pricey, I feel they are well worth it. I change a cartidge every two weeks. In addition, I got the hood which fits great and helps reduce litter spreading.

Also, this is an essential component of the HANDS-DOWN best automated litter box on the market.

Expect for the price of the item which is unerasoanble for a piece of plastic I have nothing to complain about.

Installation is a snap.

The cover does its job and crystal do not fly everywhere.

The plastic is transparent so you can see inside the box.

And best of all my cats which are very finicky did not complain.

Definitively a good buy.

This is my first "electric" litter box. I have two cats and they took to it the first day it was set up. It really decreases the usually strong smell of a litter box. It was a breeze to set up. I also purchased the tent to go on top and that has worked well keeping the litter from flying all over the cats' bathroom floor. And with the tent they can't hang their bottoms over the side of the box and accidentally leave a BM on the floor. I'm going to use rewards points from a credit card to purchase the replacement litter cartridges and that will keep the cost of maintaining it down.

The hood covers the box, which makes it all look better, and also prevents litter from flying everywhere.

Adding this cover to my automatic litter box has almost stopped the litter tracking. And better yet it just sits on top - no hooks or clasps - and the cat has never knocked it off. Very nice addition to a great litter box.

We bought one for all three of the litter boxes we got. We were afraid that our kitties would not like the open boxes. They love the privacy the hoods offer and it also gives a finish look to the scoop free box. I urge anyone who buys the litter box to purchase the hood.

This would work better if it was more secure on the litter box. It does a pretty good job keeping the litter in the box, but my cat is pretty spazzy and knocks it off pretty easily. Maybe I'm just not getting in on right though. Still, it's better than cleaning up all the litter he would spray everywhere without it.

I bought this for our cat, Ricky, over four years ago along with the ScoopFree Self Cleaning Litter Box. This fits the litter box very well and REALLY keeps the smell from getting out. It also prevents items from getting into the litter box.

It is of good quality, looks nice, and lasts long. I definitely recommend it!

This litter box ROCKS. I also got the forever tray and use the scoop away litter thats available pretty much anywhere.

It took the cats a little while to get adjusted...and it was FUNNY their reaction for the first few days they watched it do its thing. With two big cats, I get about two weeks of NO smell out of a litter change. Cost per week is probably about the same as with clumping litter...perhaps a bit less, but the convenience and NO odor is well worth it.

Everyone with a cat should buy one of these!!!
