I bought these for my Thompson Center Triumph. They give a completely unobstructed view of my iron sights. Tried "Weaver" brand with the hinged design and they partially obstructed my iron sights and they stripped out because the screws have very little depth to the thread. (My scope kept sliding after every shot no matter how tight the screws were). The depth of the threads on the four clamping screws of these rings allows adequate torquing without crushing the scope and the scope doesn't move even with high recoil. I would still be careful not to over-torque them.
