This review is from: SCORPION MAGNUM LEATHER GLOVES (X-LARGE) (SILVER)
My first good experience with Scorpion was with their helmets. I purchased an EXO700 and was very happy with it. I subsequently purchased one of their exoskeleton jackets and was extremely impressed by the way it fit, felt and worked. A month later, I happily purchased these Scorpion Magnum gloves. Fast forward another month. Both my jacket and gloves are ripping at the seams.
These gloves look terrible in silver. Black probably looks the best by far. The build quality isn't impressive on this product. There is only single stitching around the fingers and as expected, they start falling apart quickly. The faux carbon fiber plastic piece above the thumb knuckle doesn't fold the same way so it can rub abrasively against the thumb. Not pleasant. I ride a 2006 Triumph Daytona 675, which is a sport bike but I'm not a super aggressive rider, and I do take care of my things. My biggest gripe about Scorpion is their durability. Their initial quality is usually pretty good, but after a few hundred miles, you start to realize that you get what you pay for. I'm replacing these with a pair of Heroic SP-R gloves. Cost a ton more, but your hands are probably the most important things you have connecting you to your bike. |
