In this action-packed adventure, eighteen-year-old Tom and his 13-year-old stepbrother Zak aren't thrilled to be on vacation in Egypt. Tom is preoccupied by his studies and Zak is easily bored. Boredom quickly turns to excitement and danger when the two brothers are kidnapped, dumped in the desert, and trapped in a dark tomb. Will they survive their ordeal? They will if they can marshall all their skills for the task. But to do so they will have to unravel the mystery of the Goddess statue, and what is hiding inside the Scorpion Tomb. Being caught in the international intrigue of a group of smugglers trying to steal ancient treasures from the tomb, and using all their wiles to survive the sunbaked desert and befriend the locals makes for a rousing adventure for the boys - and for the reader. Each chapter features a full-page illustration, quizzes, and puzzles.
