2.0 out of 5 stars Very basic coverage!, November 28, 2009

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Scorpions and Venomous Insects of the Southwest (Paperback)
This book has very basic coverage of some arachnids, myriapods and insects. The title is completely inappropriate because there are a total of 3 scorpions covered when the region has more than 30! A more fitting title would have been "An overview of some stinging and biting arthropods of the southwest." Has some drawings, a few color plates in the center but mostly black and white photos of relatively poor quality. Each species account has a common and scientific name, identification, range, habitat, reproduction, food and bite/sting. May be useful to hobbyists and people living in the southwest for avoiding bites and stings of these creatures.
