Scosche se12 12" single sealed sub enclosure,

This review is from: Scosche Se12 12-Inch Sealed Subwoofer Enclosure (Electronics)
First, let me start by saying what a beautiful enclosure this is. The build quality is outstanding as is the fit and finish. Scosche uses all 3/4 mdf not 5/8. The terminals are nickel plated with heavy duty spring loaded connectors. The carpeting job is first rate and the box is lined with sound dampening fiber fill.
A beautiful box is no good at all if it does not sound good and there is no need to worry because this thing sounds wonderful. I am forty years old and have serious home audio equipment. In fact I have three different stereo systems in various parts of my house all with Paradigm speakers and Hsu subs. I like clean bass that is accurate and low as well as loud when it needs to be. I came close to dropping a Hsu 12" in this box but a friend of mine who owns a audio shop talked me into a Rockford Fosgate 12" 2ohm P3. I have it powered by a Rockford Fosgate P300 mono amp. This little box really thumps. I have been impressed each time I get in my car and crank this puppy up. It puts a smile on my face just thinking about it. It goes low reminding me of my VTF3 MKII. I gave serious thought to building an enclosure. I priced all the materials. When one factors in all the time and labor plus the materials and hardware it would cost more to build than to buy this box. If you have the room and the right driver and amp this box will wake up any audio system. This sub box does not disappoint. Highly recommended.

Scosche Se12 12" Sealed Subwoofer Enclosure - Sweet Deal!,
By
This review is from: Scosche Se12 12-Inch Sealed Subwoofer Enclosure (Electronics)
I purchased Two of these Scosche Se12 12" Sealed Subwoofer Enclosures in order to test out a few different 12" subwoofers and then give one to my nephew for his car audio system. I paid $29.99 Each and they were both Shipped for FREE using the Amazon Super Saver Shipping!!! I also received them within 3 days of ordering! The shipping charges alone normally prohibit this type of purchase, even if the item price is a bargain! The enclosures were double-boxed but there really wasn't any type of padding in the main shipping box to protect the enclosures...the subwoofer enclosure (inside it's own, form-fitting cardboard box) was just floating around loosely in the oversized cardboard shipping box. Luckily they are built pretty solid and survived UPS's shipping unscathed!
I will usually custom-build most of my subwoofer enclosures using MDF and/or Fiberglass, but for testing purposes, and/or if you just want a very quick and easy solution, you absolutely cannot go wrong for the price! I highly doubt I could even buy the materials to build one myself for the cost of these enclosures shipped to my doorstep! And I didn't have to spend any time whatsoever to make them, get dirty, or pull out a single power tool!!! These are very well-built boxes if you consider that they are Off-The-Shelf, Genenric enclosures. They are constructed from good-quality 3/4" MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) and the exterior carpet and interior Fiber-fill/Poly-fill batting material (basically pillow stuffing) are a bonus. Could you build a better enclosure yourself, with thicker MDF, internal bracing, with a custom shape and carpet color?...Of Course! But not for less than twice the price just for the materials alone, and it would take away some of your valuable personal time to build them as well. These come with a pre-installed Terminal/Connection Cup and enough Speaker Wire to connect your Single Voice Coil subwoofer, but you may need a bit more wire to connect a Dual Voice Coil subwoofer in series or parallel. The only problem that I can forsee with these is that the Subwoofer Mounting Hole is Pre-cut. So if your 12" subwoofer requires a slightly SMALLER CUT-OUT or Mounting Hole these WILL NOT work for you, so BE SURE to MEASURE or Have the Exact Cutout specs for the Subwoofer you plan to use BEFORE YOU PURCHASE these, or before you purchase a subwoofer if you already have this box!!! Other than that, this is THE ABSOLUTE BEST VALUE for a "Plug & Play" 12-inch Sealed Subwoofer Enclosure that you will ever find!!! Especially if you can get the FREE SHIPPING through Amazon.com!!! For an interesting article and explanation of how Fiberfill or Polyfill affects your subwoofer's sound, take a look at this Link:[...] THANK YOU Scosche & Amazon!!!! Billy B. i bought this for a mustang but the size is a bit two big for the side panel.
aside from the size this box not only does it hit, it hits really hard. i paired it with a kicker CVR12 and the car alarms of the side cars go off in mid volume and at $29 dollars you cant go wrong.

1.25cu ft just doesn't cut it. I mean the quality is great. 3/4 mdf is thick. It will last you a long time. Also the carpeting is awesome. Mine came with 8 screws, so if your sub requires more, you might wanna buy different screws so that they all match. I put a 12inch JL Audio W6 in and it fits well. It just doesn't sound that well. I wish scosche would sell bigger boxes. This is not for competition subs. But still a great box for any regular sub you wanna put it there. Plus the fact that it's sealed just makes it all the better.

This review is from: Scosche Se12 12-Inch Sealed Subwoofer Enclosure (Electronics)
Overview: Scosche makes an excellent subwoofer enclosure with the Se12. It is every bit as good as any other enclosure you will find.
Pros: solid MDF construction, quality box carpeting, included box stuffing Cons: cheap terminal cup and wiring, lack of carrying handles I highly recommend replacing the stock terminal cup and wiring with quality aftermarket ones. Obviously, if you want power, the included wiring is of too light a gauge to serve your needs. Even though this is a sealed enclosure, you should use at least 14-ga. wires. The included wires are 18-ga. at best. I do like that the terminal cup uses banana-style binding posts, but quality three-way posts would be better. So yes, swap out the terminal cup. They're relatively cheap and worth the money. A word of advice: before you attempt to use the included screws to mount your sub, predrill holes. This is a necessary step that will save you from ruining the screws and will make mounting much easier. Most subwoofers come with templates for this sort of thing, so use them. Once it is done, the product looks great and matches dark grey interiors really well.

I bought this enclosure for my Alpine SWR Type-R 12" Sub and it sounds great, deep bass is no problem with this box. Thinking of building your own box?...think again and just save your money and time unless you're skilled box builder and have the proper tools. Simply for the price and quality of this Scosche Se12 can't be beat.

i bought this to go with a 12" kicker CVR and it went in a honda pilot.
it fit perfectly in the trunk space (with the third row seat up) it also sounds like if i got 2 12" speakers.... i never thought it would fit and i didnt think it would sound like it does. if i put the bass up it shakes the WHOLE truck so yea its like if this box was custom made for the truck and for the sub. super fast shipping too THANKS AMAZON !!!!!

$100 OF BOX FOR ONLY $25,

This review is from: Scosche Se12 12-Inch Sealed Subwoofer Enclosure (Electronics)
Wow, this box is insane. First of all, the shipping was 4 days. The shipping alone had to cost AT LEAST $15, it is 20 lbs. I don't even know how they can offer this box at such a low price. It is extremely well made, batted, wired, thick, carpeted really really well. Looks great, sounds great, just what I needed and if you are reading this, just what you need. I still am in awe of how much money I saved rather than buying this box for literally $120 in the store. It is ridiculous. GO SEALED for tighter cleaner sounding bass. Ported gives more power, but hey, you want your music to sound good. Best bang for my buck I have ever gotten. WOW.
