Customer Reviews

Had hopes it would keep my iPad, iPhone, and 2 kindles charged.

Many USB chargers give you 1.5-2.0A per port, which charge up to 4 times faster if your device is a newer one and can take that much current.
Amazon Customer
I like this one, because it has 4 USB charger outlets, so I can plug in several things at once.

This charger is very compact, accepts 110V to 240V (with plug adapter needed for overseas), works very well, charges up to 4 devices that take up to standard SUB-allowed 500mA current, and supposedly alternatively one device that needs more juice (not tested by me). However, it will not work with most of the non-smart phone devices. I did try it on three different brands of "classic" Motorola phones, and none of them worked. It does work on the newest models though, as well as on all "iProducts" we have at home, and Amazon Kindle. Of course, you need to buy the USB cables separately. On the side note, I purchased one more of a different brand and I am missing there the blinding bright blue LED light that this device has reassures that the device is powered. So I do like this design with LED unlike some other reviewers.

Now a little theory behind USB and USB chargers (source: USB.ORG, Web page at [....]). Originally according to the USB standard a USB device could draw only 100mA unless it negotiates with a computer and is allowed to draw up to 500mA. In June 2007 a new standard for USB chargers was drafted. This standard allows devices to detect, if there is a computer on the other side or just a power supply. If there is no computer, then they are allowed to assume that this is a USB charger. Devices that were designed before that date even if they were manufactured later would not charge from this charger at more than 100mA (charge slowly) if compliant with USB standard. Fans, keyboard lights, mug warmers etc., that are called USB decorations would not have that circuitry to negotiate the current and in extreme cases could even damage a USB port on your laptop.

This charger provides up to 2000mA total for all four ports.

I have a bunch of USB items that I charge regularly and was tired of unplugging one to charge another. This is a great little solution to my problem. The prongs fold in, which make it great for travel. I've charged up to three items at once and I will say is the one drawback is that charging is a bit slower when multiple items are connected, but for the outlet saving it's worth it. The only other drawback is that the blue power light can be a bit bright, I had to push the power strip further under my bed because I found it rather distracting when I tried to fall asleep.

Worked for about three days then would not charge anything. Nothing plugged in would register, the blue light would just blink.

The SCOSCHE qusbh reVIVE IV is an AC to DC power adapter which converts house electrical power (between 100 to 240 Volts) to direct current of 2000 mA or 2 A at 5 Volts.

There are four USB outlet ports that you can plug in USB devices like MP3 players, cell phones, and digital cameras to charge their internal batteries or to power them directly.

Because the total current output is 2 Amps shared among the four ports, if you use all four ports at the same time, the maximum output per port is then 0.5 A. This is sufficient to power and/or charge most devices, but not ones that require higher current output, such as the Apple iPad, which needs 2.1 A. If you connect an iPad to this adapter, the iPad will display "Not Charging" (but it can keep the iPad powered up and not drain its internal battery power) near the battery level indicator. This is true even if you just use one port and leave the other three empty. The Kindle Fire, which uses 1.8 A, can be charged using this adapter, provided that you do not use other ports.

The plug prongs can be folded up when not in use, so it is more compact and convenient to store and transport.

It is a very good deal at less than $6, including Amazon Prime free shipping.

I purchased this because of the quad usb ports. It worked well for my ipod, and 3d glasses but did not work with my blackberry. Even though it says it can charge a blackberry it would not charge my bold 9700. I checked the output of the unit and it seems that it does not provide enough power to charge the bold.Other than this, it has been great for all other items, just wish it could charge my blackberry as well.

For approx. $6 you won't find a better charger for use while traveling. I used it to charge two cellphones every night, an iPod touch and used the last port for a TG-820 camera. It is also very useful for crowded outlets in airport gate areas.

There is insufficient power to charge any of my cell phones, even when I tried to charge them with their power turned off.
It just drained the battery on the blackberry torch.
The Nokia did not recognize it as a power source.
The Motorola did not charge either.
A good idea, but desperately lacking in ability to perform.

My guess is that it perhaps it works with tiny MP3 players? I can't say.
Make sure the store you buy it from has some form of decent return policy.
