5.0 out of 5 stars Takes the hum out of Hum-Bug

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent, but not great
Bought this to get rid of noises coming through the radio and whining whenever I pressed the accelerator after installing an fm modulator (by scosche) in my 02 accord. It got rid of the accelerator noises but there was still noticable crackling and it also distorted the treble at high volumes. Bought a PGLI35 from another site for $12 and it got rid of all the noise...

2.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed, September 8, 2009

I read the great reviews for this product and chose it over other ground loop isolators. It did reduce all of the hum, but also cut out the mid-range frequencies. The vocals are barely audible!

In summary, it works, but it's not the best.

5.0 out of 5 stars Takes the hum out of Hum-Bug, March 26, 2010

I have been trying to put some of my best vinyl record on CD without sucess due to a very loud hum when connecting my record player to the sound card on my computer. After about a year of trying to do this I did some searching and found out that a ground loop isolator was the answer. I had never heard of such a thing so I wondered where in the world could I find such a thing. I went right to Amazon and found several. I ordered this item as it was not the cheapest or the most expensive. When it arrived I saw the instructions said it was for mobile use. I was about ready to return it but thought what the heck, I'll try it anyway. I was very scepical but hooked it up anyway. As soon as the connection was made I was greeted with dead silence. I thought oh boy, it shorted out everything. I started a record and to my amazement out came music with no hum at all. My records are now on CD and on the external hard drive for backup. It sure did the job for me.

I have my iPhone connected to my 2007 G35 Sedan via the rca cables. I use the apple cable that has a dock connector that breaks out into the red, white, and yellow rca's and a usb port. I have the usb port connected to a standard 12V car power port to usb plug and the rcas hooked up to the ports in the armrest. This charges my phone, lets me play music through the aux input, and when I am stopped it plays video (movies, music videos, podcasts).

when listening to music, (either ipod or pandora) I would always hear a whine which I knew was engine noise. I had tried a cheap ground loop isolator from radio shack before but it was very bulky, taking up a lot of the limited space in the arm rest, and it didn't work well. I decided to take a chance on this adapter and to my surprise it worked great! Now I can still hear some background noise when I turn it up pretty high with nothing playing but I don't usually hear it when music is playing. Sometimes I hear the phone interference but that is inevitable.

this worked great for my setup.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great investment that pays off !, April 27, 2009
This review is from: Scosche Eso34 Ground Loop Isolator (Electronics)
I bought this because I use my laptop when I DJ, and I connect it to my CD mixer. The humming is due to the AC power supply that keeps my laptop powered. I didn't want to have to use battery only on my laptop for my DJ gigs, so I bought this and it works like a charm! The static and hum is gone, definitely worth getting!

I use this for playing live electronic music from my laptop and it elimates that "buzz" that all us electronic musicians have become painfully familiar with.

1.0 out of 5 stars Works, but won't last, October 28, 2009
This review is from: Scosche Eso34 Ground Loop Isolator (Electronics)
I will never buy a Scosche isolator again. The first one I bought went bad on me and I believe it took my pretty expensive amp with it. But I gave this Scosche product the benefit of a doubt and bought a second one. Now this one went bad too. The right side speaker has no more bass when going through the ground loop isolator. The speaker works fine when not using the isolator.
Well, that's a 100% failure rate and both times they lasted barely more than half a year.
Do yourself a favor and buy another brand. I will

1.0 out of 5 stars Didn't last long - stay away, December 26, 2011

I also will never buy another one of these. I have a simple straight forward ground loop issue involving a computer and analog stereo setup (the dreaded 60 Hz hum). These things often happen because the computer is earth grounded and nothing else is. I put this thing in place and it worked - until it shorted signal to system ground. Really heated up my receiver in a hurry, fortunately no damage, unlike the other reviewer's (sorry that happened, man!). These things are basically 1:1 transformers and typically nothing goes weird with them. I bought another brand and have had no further problems.

5.0 out of 5 stars Got rid of hum and buzz for TV from cable box, November 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Scosche Eso34 Ground Loop Isolator (Electronics)
I had a buzz and hum when I connected my TV to the cable tv box. This product eliminated that audio hum and buzz. There was a ground loop between the cable tv coaxial ground and the TV power. I used a separate hum bucker for the power to eliminate the rolling video TV bars. This product eliminated the remaining audio hum and buzz.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works great on Mixtrack Pro/laptop setup, March 3, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Scosche Eso34 Ground Loop Isolator (Electronics)
This product works great when used to eliminate the speaker buzz caused by laptops. However, it does not work very well when used alone on my iDJ. However, if you're looking for something to get rid of that annoying buzzing sound caused by laptops, this will definitely do the trick.
