Connect your iPod to multimedia speakers, car stereos, and a host of other audio products with this retractable cable. The cord, which includes a single 3.5 mm male connector on each end, measures 2.8 feet long when fully extended. More importantly, the cord offers a fast and easy way to extend your audio player connection beyond a few inches. Simply plug one end into your iPod's 3.5 mm headphone jack and the other into the auxiliary input of your preferred audio device, such as a car stereo or boombox. Once connected, you'll enjoy a full range of audio options. Plus, when you're not using the cord, it retracts into its slim housing for storage. The cable is backed by a 90-day warranty.

Great for the car, connects phone/mp3 player to the audio in.
Rosse Tosse
In spite of these reservations, the cable works well, the audio quality seems fine, and it is small, convenient, and nicely functional.

The only problem is that I can't get the cable to retract all the way on both ends.

I'm fairly pleased with this little retractable cable. Fortunately, I had read the other reviews, so I was not surprised by the short length and it works for me. Some things you should know:

* As other reviewers mention, this is not a 6' cable. The technical details have the correct 2.5' length, but the description is incorrect.
* The retractor mechanism is a little cheap and I've gotten it tangled a couple of times. That being said, I've always been able to untangle it and it has recovered.
* The rubber around the plug ends is a good size for iPods and most stereo inputs, but it is too wide for the audio jack in an iPhone. I took a sharp knife to one end of the cable and shaved down the sides, then it worked fine even for the recessed iPhone jack. This wasn't too hard to do, though that cable end doesn't look too pretty now.

In spite of these reservations, the cable works well, the audio quality seems fine, and it is small, convenient, and nicely functional.

Not horrible but I bought it at the same time as I bought a much better similar product- Cables Unlimited Zip-Linq Male/Male Retractable 3.5mm Stereo Cable.

The Cables Unlimited one is much sturdier and a little longer. After using the two, it seems that the Scosche (this product) does not expand and retract as fluidly as the cables 2 go one. I feel like I'm going to break the Scosche one every time I use it. Also, the Scosche one is extreeemely short and I found the Cables Unlimited one to be a much more practical size, especially considering they retract to the same size anyway.

I'd definetely recommend the CablesUnlimited one. I bought both. Learn from me.

This product is perfect for use in my Accord. It's just long enough that I can hold my MP3 player while it's plugged into the auxiliary jack.

I don't have much else to say. It is just a cable and it does what it's supposed to do.

This cable worked fine... while it worked. About a month of regular use, and I was having to shimmy the connectors in order to hear the music in stereo. Not long after that, the connection didn't work at all. I purchased a new, cheap, non-retractable cable, and it has been going strong since I replaced this one.

I purchased this item in August of 2007 about 5 months ago. The porduct works great and clarity is equal to if not better than a CD. After 5 months of picking up my ipod(and retracting the cable) while driving to change the song, ect., the cord no longer has a strong connection. The cable that is connected to the tip, which inserts into my ipod headphone jack, has loosened and it no longer works. The fragile cord is not strong enough or durable enough to be part of a retractable device. I recommend this product if you do not want messy cables in your car, however you won't get a very long use from this product(5 months), thus the three stars. If the cord was thicker and not as fragile(somehow still making it retractable) then the product would be flawless.

This is a neat product, exactly as advertised and works great with portable audio devices. Yes, it's possible to get the retractor stuck but was not hard to get it working again and is not hard to avoid. The cable is a little on the thin side but it doesn't seem to affect audio quality.

Maybe I just got a bad one, but it was definitely a piece of junk. It seemed to fit too loosely in the jack. I had to do that thing where you twist it around in the jack to try to get good sound. Scritchy scratchy. And I never did get the full sound.

I've replaced it with a non-retractable good quality Belkin cable which fits tightly in the jacks and works great. Save your money on this thing and spend a little more on something reliable.

Works well in the car with your MP3 or ipod. No long cables hanging all over the car. Just pull out to a length needed. Works great!
