5.0 out of 5 stars The only stuff that works.
I've tried a handful of other putty and adhesive products to keep the posters up in my dormroom, but many of them last for only a week and then the poster will fall. So far, this 3M/Scotch putty is the only one that holds tight. Highly Recommended, but difficult to find anywhere but Amazon.

1.0 out of 5 stars Really Cheap For A Reason
I bought this to hold up a simple 2'X3' poster and After using a full stick on one poster they still fall off after about 1-2 weeks, pretty crappy poster putty, maybe I got a bad pack but just use thumbtacks, might not look as good but 4 of those suckers will hold the poster up forever.

This is great for sticking posters on walls. No need to poke holes or unsightly scotch tapes. Just put a pinch on each corners. And it is very easy to adjust if your poster is askewed. It will not damage the walls if you decide it is time to remove them.

We use it on vases, trophies, speakers, etc. to keep them from moving.

Great to keep picture and painting frames from tilting once you place them on the wall.

Once we save a call to the plumber when my wife's earing fell in the sink. I put a small ball of this sticky stuff on the tip of a wooden barbecue stick. with the help of a flashlight, we were able to retrieve it.

The only thing you have to remember is to keep it away from your carpet as it is very hard to remove it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Atrocious product, December 17, 2011
This review is from: Scotch Adhesive Putty, Removable 2 oz. (860) (Office Product)
I used to use the command strips and now it's clear why I did. This putty is absolutely atrocious. It has damaged $40 in posters just from its inability to stick to any surface for longer than 30 seconds. The fact that this is even sold anywhere is baffling.

1.0 out of 5 stars College=Posters, December 5, 2011
This review is from: Scotch Adhesive Putty, Removable 2 oz. (860) (Office Product)
I used the blue sticky tack Freshman year for a lot of posters and never once had a problem. This semester, using the white scotch stuff, my posters fall on my head in the middle of the night...often multiple times. I'm a bit fed up with that. The quality of this tack is so atrocious compared to the blue putty which is the same price! I just popped on here to get myself some blue putty, saw this product for sale, felt an intense rage build in me (this was a night when my poster fell on my head multiple times), and had to write a review. So, I'm off to buy some good tack. (Hint, not this stuff)

It does hold paper on the wall and removes without damage, like the manufacturer says.

Cons: It takes a LOT of this if you want to hold up posterboard or any large peices of paper. It also takes quite a bit of time to knead it and warm it up before it is ready to stick to the wall.

Pros: I haven't had any damage to my walls from this, even after having it in place for over 6 months. It's easy to save and reuse, doesnt dry out, and can be stored almost anywhere.

It works exceptionally well for balancing picture frames, if your frame is hanging slightly lop-sided and you can't adjust the hook, a little blob of this on the back of a corner will hold it exactly where you want it.

2.0 out of 5 stars No the best putty, October 7, 2011

Initially this putty held up my posters and I was happy with it, but within a couple of days they were all falling down (I had put a LOT of putty on each one). I think it was probably due to fluctuations in humidity, but either way I was disappointed. I've since used Command poster strips and have had no problems with that product. My advice is to skip the putty, or at least use a different brand that holds stronger.

3.0 out of 5 stars blu tack, February 24, 2011

I was a bit disappointed as I usually use blu tack to hang posters, etc. on the wall and it usually works well. The ornament that I hung on my door after I received this product fell down within hours of putting it up.

This putty just doesn't have enough elasticity. Poster board, paper and the like inevitable fall down...especially if it is exposed to cold temperatures....and it doesn't matter if a large or small amount is used.

I tried to use this to hang some maps on my son's wall. It stuck for about 45 minutes and then peeled off. I don't think it is just this brand or the specific type of wall, since I had the same experience once before. I just think you need to take the claims that putty is the solution to your poster hanging issues with a few grains of salt - it's not so effective.
