Scotch brand Laser Lens Cleaner,

I only purchase this brand now. I have tried other brands of laser lens cleaners and this is by far the best one. It is also one of the least expensive. It works in my DVD burners (unlike the Memorex brand) and my DVD players as well as all my CD players. It has ceased errors on all of them whenever needed.

I had a CD player that wouldn't recognize any disks and a DVD player that would play but wouldn't allow any FF or Rewinding. I used this laser lens cleaner on both machines, and now, they work like new. It's amazing how something that costs under $10 saved me over $200 in stereo replacement costs.

This is exactly what the title says it is. A disc that cleans CD/DVD drives. The scotch name is the best in its genre. Gamble the $4. You won't be disappointed.

Easy to use, but poorly explained. Doesn't seem to do too much.,

I don't know why they don't have any good directions explaining how this things works, and I was initially confused about what to do. Track 2 has a bunch of little brushes on it, so I was wondering why the package said that track 3 was the cleaning track. The "on disc" (why is that in quotes?) directions are basically one long advertisement for Scotch, so don't bother with those. So, to use the cleaner, all you do is play track 1 for a couple of seconds, then skip ahead to track 3. The cleaning is done when the head searches from track 1 to track 3, and has to move past the track 2 brushes. If you try to play track 2, it will play until you reach the brushes, at which point, the drive will keep trying to read the non-existent data where the brushes are located. I have a drive that is failing, although I don't really know why, as I have not used it that much (I have had the drive for a couple of years now), so I thought that the head must be dirty. Cleaning the drive with this thing didn't seem to help anything. I would guess the head got cleaned as it was supposed to be, but it didn't seem to improve my data access speed, or the skipping, or any of other things that the stupid "on disc" instructions said it would. Don't listen to those directions, by the way, unless you like being hit over the head by Scotch.

My Philips DVD player was having trouble reading some all-region DVDs and I thought maybe I should clean my lens. I purchased this cleaner and voila! the DVDs played. I've used the same cleaning disc for at least four years on my DVD players, my computer CD/DVD drives, and my car DVD players and it's given me great value for the minimal purchase price. Before you send anything back for repair or throw it out, try one of these.

I thought my dvd player was shot, and it's built in to my TV so it wasn't going to be easy to take in to the store to be fixed. Then, duh!, I realized that this product exists, ordered it, used it ONCE, and all is well again! No more skipping, stopping, simply not playing. I can actually enjoy dvds again. and the price is right!

My dvd player wouldn't play dvd's or cd's saying error check disk. So I bought this and the problem was fixed.

I got this because I was trying to make backup Cd's for my computer. My computer made 3 out of 8 CD's before it gave me an error. After using this I was able to complete the back ups but I had to run this several times and every time in between discs. I got the task done but it didn't seem to fix the entire problem. I may need to replace the CD burner.

Should have bought this first!,

As a musician and entertainer, my laptop is my office for creating music and promotional videos. My laptop CD-DVD drive suddenly stopped reading certain CD's and DVD's of mine. After 2 days of internet research and trying every fix imaginable - system restore, system analysis, Microsoft Support recommendations, and trying to determine which type of CD or DVD was having or causing the problem - I finally broke down and bought this lens cleaner. Within 5 minutes my drive was as good as new. There is a track listing on the back of the package that is self-explanatory and by simply putting the cleaner in your drive and listening to Track 1, you can have a nice clean drive in minutes. Before you spend valuable time trying all the "geek" fixes like I did, grab this product first!
