This review is from: Scotch Self-Sealing Laminating Pouches, 25-Pack (LS851G), Business Card Size (Office Product)
Over the years, as a Traveler, I have used the 3M & Scotch Business Card Size Laminating Pouches, for everything from Luggage ID tags, to laminating International or Federal Driving Licenses or SS cards, or any Membership cards, that are printed on flimsy or card-stock paper. They look very Professional, giving a real Clean, Clear look and I have never been disappointed, in using them.
* Instant, permanent document laminating without heat or hassle. I carry them in my Travel bag. * Protects and adds professionalism to business cards. * Easy to use...no special tools or equipment needed. * Ultra-clear to let important information show through. * You can also laminate gift tags for long-lasting labels on homemade food gifts. * TIP - You can also use them to Laminate, Seal & Store any SD or MicroSD Memory cards in their cases to make them Water-Proof or to store very small jewelry pieces! If you are the creative type, you can come up with all kinds of Cool uses! * What's not to like!

Not adequate for laminating cards carried daily in a wallet.,

This review is from: Scotch Self-Sealing Laminating Pouches, 25-Pack (LS851G), Business Card Size (Office Product)
My goal for this product was to protect cards I carry daily in my wallet. For instance, Red Cross certification cards. These are printed on some sort of card stock but they are still fragile and the printing on them fades due to rubbing against other cards.
There are two problems with the pouches: 1. The pouches are too big. Of course to contain a business card, the lamination has to be somewhat bigger than the card. However, these pouches are so big that they do not fit into the pockets of my wallet. None of the wallets I have have pockets big enough to contain these pouches. The only way I was able to make them fit was to trim them to size, which leads us to problem number 2. 2. The pouches delaminate after 2-3 months of use. Surely, by trimming them, I have weakened them but I am not convinced that repeated rubbing and bending would not delaminate even an untrimmed pouch. The adhesive just does not seem strong enough to handle repeated bending and rubbing. It does not mean that the pouches are completely useless. My wife, for instance, carries in her purse some cards laminated with these pouches. The pouches are able to handle the demands of that environment.

Great for making luggage tags,

I fly a lot and my luggage tags always get either torn or destroyed by water or misuse. I bought these specifically to use them to make my own luggage tags. I printed out the lable I wanted on my printer and then put the paper in the laminating puch and "Poof," I had a virtually indestructable luggage tag. I did trim the excess plastic down a little so it would fit in the Timbuk2 luggage tag holder I had (Timbuk2 Luggage Tag)but they work well in the sleeves on most luggage as well.
