Book Description

Kat expects to have a great time on her graduation trip to Stonehenge. However, from the moment she leaves the witches’ arctic island, Galdorheim, she gets in nothing but trouble. Her younger half-brother tries to horn in on her trip, she gets lost in the magical Otherworld realm, is led astray by a supposed friend, then she has to confront a Scottish goddess who’s fallen on hard times.

While dodging the goddess’ minions and trying to find her way out of the Otherworld, Kat soon learns she shouldn’t underestimate the old has-been for one second; the crone still has a few tricks that can drain a witch’s magic in a flash. To make matters worse, Kat's brother secretly followed her into the Otherworld. Now he’s in danger, too. Kat has to go one on one with the goddess to save herself and her brother.

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

Scotch Broom is the third book in the Witches of Galdorheim series. All three books are currently offered in ebook and print.

I hope readers will enjoy meeting Kat the klutzy teen witch, her smart-aleck brother Rune, Mordita the Sorceress, and the other witches on Galdorheim Island. In Kat's adventures, she'll meet legendary creatures presented with my own humorous twist. Trolls, giants, werewolves, spirits, goddesses, unicorns, and plenty of fey occupy the pages of Bad Spelling, Midnight Oil, and Scotch Broom.

5.0 out of 5 stars Scotch Broom - Witches of Galdorheim number 3 April 11, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Kat and Rune set out on their adventures once again this time to Scotland. The witch and warlock take different routes but their problems eventually bring them together. Kat is growing up and goes out into the world alone. A trick leaves her stranded and she has to learn who to trust and who will betray her.

The mundanes of the world plod along unaware of magic, while and ancient Goddess lives in the Otherworld surrounded by magical creatures. Vampires, a giant, trolls and magical beasts are some of the Goddesses companions who make this third book another winner in the Witches of Galdorheim Series.

Ms Dasef has the ability to write a series and make each book seem fresh and different from the previous one. At the end of each novel I believed I knew the characters well but Scotch Broom reveals yet another layer to the characters and world.

I enjoyed the first two of this series and Scotch Broom drew me in so well that I read the whole book in one sitting. Ms Dasef deserves a standing ovation and I eagerly wait for the next book in the series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful World to Immerse Yourself In! April 11, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
This is such a wonderful read. Mrs. Dasef grabs your attention from the very first chapter, and her world-building and lovable characters keep you hooked to the last page. This is also appropriate for any age. The writing is skilled and solid, and the author doesn't resort to gratuitous scenes and scantily-clad covers to sell. The story sells itself. Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Ms. Dasef Does it Again April 9, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Ms. Dasef does it again for the third in her series.
Kat is growing up and she's taking her promised graduation trip--alone. Although her magic still isn't up to par, her wit shines through. With her half-brother Rune following to make sure she is safe, they both get into trouble once in the otherworld where magical creatures abound. Who can she trust?
This book teems with Ms. Dasef's imagination and her research into mythical characters, plus her wonderful style of writing. A book for all ages, a fast fun read and a real page-turner. I've enjoyed reading all three in the series and hope she has more in store for us.
Now, I'll lend Scotch Broom to my YA granddaughter to enjoy. She has been bugging me for it since she has read the first two.
Don't miss this series folks. It's a goodie.

5.0 out of 5 stars Once again great fun June 11, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I was looking forward to the third book in The Witches of Galdorheim series and didn't get disappointed. Marva Dasef once again created a wonderfully charming adventure set in a world filled with mysterious and enchanting characters. Kat and Rune both faced quite some challenges. Throughout, I enjoyed the little homages to other brilliant works of fiction from Alice in Wonderland to Hansel and Gretel. Great slivers of fun sprinkled into an otherwise high-tension story.
