3.0 out of 5 stars Unpredictable lady rescued by mysterious champion., February 11, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Scotsman's Bride (Zebra Splendor Historical Romances) (Paperback)
When Ramsay Forbes engineers the end of the betrothal of Cassandra St. John and Dudley Moncreff, he feels that victory for the Forbes clan is eminent. Instead of crying, she leaves.

As Cassie leaves the building, she decides to walk home. The decision seems rational enough until she is accosted by street beggars. Suddenly a champion appears and scares off her attackers. He introduces himself as Lord Ravencliff and escorts her home.

Lord Ravencliff is one of Ramsay Forbes' titles. He doesn't reveal his full identity to Cassie yet. The plan to regain possession of Glen Gray isn't all in place. Once it is, he will reveal all. Of course, for any plan to be executed perfectly everyone must perform predictably, and Cassie is anything but predictable as Ramsay soon discovers.

Linda Madl's newest romance depicts the world of feuding clans vividly. Ramsay, a man torn between clan loyalty and true love, is right on target as is Cassie as the wildly unpredictable St. John twin. Too bad the story is predictable, however, giving a strange sense of deja vu.
