Buy this book if you want complete information on choosing a fire pit or outdoor fireplace (I ended up going with a fire pit); how to locate it on your property, all the styles available; what all the components of each product do; and many creative designs you may not have thought of or maybe have never seen before.
The deliverable here is: "Now I know what we should do".
By the way, a fire feature is great for relationships with friends and family. Nothing gets people to start chatting away than the glimmer of fire (and maybe a glass of Merlot).
Those that are looking for a multi-hundred page tomb with step-by-step instructions outlining how to build multiple types of fire pits and fireplaces are not going to be happy with this book.
For ideas and as a decision making resource, this is a great tool.

This is the second Scott Cohen book I bought. I'm in the middle of planning a backyard remodel and his books have been a fantastic resource. If you are looking for a huge number of designs and ideas to pick from this is a great choice.
