A Delightful Discovery!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Scott Dreier (Audio CD)
I stumbled across this CD in a listening station at Tower Records. After listening to 3 or 4 tracks, I had to buy it! What a crooner Drier is, and how diverse! His sound is by turns big band, to familiar pop tunes (a fantastic arrangement of the Beatles favorite, Yesterday), to a smart sprinkling of musical theater, even a couple of introspective alternative-type tunes. And he has the voice and range to accommodate all these genres. Hard to believe it's a first recording--the sound is crisp and completely professional, the music choices savvy and interesting. A very talented new personality has just come on to the music scene--let's hope we hear more from Scott Dreier!

Really Good Stuff!,
By elan mcmahan (Carlsbad, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Scott Dreier (Audio CD)
Scott Dreier is that rare breed: a singer who nails it both musically AND dramatically. His vocals are perfect. And the arrangements on this CD are top drawer. Particularly impressive: "Lida Rose," "Put 'em in a Box." "Yesterday," and "Pieces of Dreams." I love listening to this passionately performed, thoughtfully arranged CD.

A Wonderful Musical Journey of Emotions,
By
This review is from: Scott Dreier (Audio CD)
Music that takes you on an emotional journey is one of the greatest escapes in this hectic lifestyle we've all created for ourselves. Scott takes us on such a journey. From old standards to theatrical pieces, Scott shares love, dreams and hope in his choice of songs with beautiful arrangements. There's nothing better than hearing Scott sing except hearing him sing and seeing him act in a musical performance. He's the type of actor who can step into a role and make you forget he's Scott. He sings his heart out in "Suddenly Seymour" as does Katey Sagal, takes us back to Willy Wonka's factory where the chocolate river flows with "Pure Imagination" and brings on the dreams with "Hushaby Mountain" from Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. I would love to hear "Pieces of Dreams" in a cabaret show; Scott shows just his voice and a piano can take you away on a hopeful journey of dreams. And not only is this a disc filled with beautiful music, part of the proceeds are donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. How can anyone resist? A CD with heart, warmth and generosity. Singers (people) like this don't come along often. This is definitely one for the collections of those who love great music, great arrangements and a great voice.
